Hired Scott to handle an early probation termination. We had a consultation at his office, I explained everything, and then retained him. Scott shows up at the hearing and asked me several questions that I had already answered at our consultation. He even asked me what the charge was that got me on probation, literally minutes before the hearing was to begin. It was quite obvious Scott did not spend much time thinking about, or preparing for, this hearing, nor did he take notes at our consultation. We get before the judge and he asks to hear good reasoning. Scott did not mention the fact that I plan to move out of state, have PTSD, nothing that I asked him to say. He fumbles through his own reasoning, judge isn't convinced, and Scott says 'thank you judge,' and walks out before I knew what was going on. I asked about his lack-luster, timid attempt to get me off, why he retreated so quickly, and why he completely ignored the reasoning I wanted to use. He told me 'the judge has a reputation,' and 'he already had his mind made up, so he didn't want to antagonize him.' Extremely disappointment in his efforts, communication skills, and performance.
