I cannot recommend Ellis Law in Freehold, NJ, highly enough! I was facing a daunting 6-point traffic violation and a potential fine exceeding $400. You will be ignored by your attorney Steve Sla.. Your phone calls will not be returned, your emails will remain unanswered and your appointments-canceled. You will get a lot of excuses, “He hasn’t been in.” “He’s in court in the mornings.” My favorite- “He’ll call you back shortly.” Please know, these are not voluntary responses, you have to ask for them. You have to ask “Why hasn’t Steve returned any of my phone calls or emails in months?” You will not be happy as this client treatment will go on for months.

I had the best experience possible, the best you can expect after getting hit with a ton of tickets. The secretary/paralegal & Mr. Slavoff were not only easy to speak with but very personable, Mr. Slavoff kept me notified of every change in court date as well as any change in the case overall IE offers on the table as well as what the possible outcomes would be all said & done. I had the best possible outcome in my case after a year of ongoing court dates & delays due to health issues on my end. He was not only understanding but was able to properly communicate what was happening with me to the courts in a timely manner. I’d like to again thank Mr. Slavoff & the rest of Ellis Law firm for handling my traffic case & getting me the best possible outcome I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with an attorney. You’re going to regret wasting your peace of mind, time and money here. I came here thinking I was going to be represented by Mr. Ellis but my case got assigned to one of his associates (Stephen Slavoff). This associate steve did absolutely nothing to help my case after months of going to court and after I paid half of the entire cost. He didn’t pressure law enforcement to send the discovery needed for trial that he claims he requested 6 months ago (Nov 2023) when he should be seeking a Motion to Compel or suppression of evidence for their failure to share. He just accepted the fact that they won’t send it even though it’s been half a year. Instead he kept bringing me into court trying to settle with prosecution and presenting me with ridiculous offers without even having discovery. (2 other lawyers told me that that’s unnecessary and I don’t have to go into court especially without discovery). After firing him the first time Ellis called me to let ask me to keep him as my lawyer and I agreed. Not even a day later I told him that I needed to travel outside of the US and asked him if there are any restrictions while my case is still going on and his answer was “Good question, I don’t know”… and he still didn’t work on my case. He treated my case like a pro bono because he’s a fraud (unless he really just isn’t a good lawyer). My case isn’t even over yet and I fired him because I realized I’m wasting time getting scammed. He barely communicates, but when he does his communication skills are not good and will leave you stressed, confused and doubtful. Not once did I receive an update about my case ever since I hired him. Please beware of fake positive reviews instead of wasting time and money. Make sure your lawyer is willing and able to explain the case to you and answers your questions clearly and completely, and that they will keep you informed about the progress of your case. Steve was unable to inform me about the progress of my case simply because he didn’t even work on it. If you don’t hear from your lawyer for too long just know something isn’t right. Save yourself the inconvenience, stress and embarrassment of being represented by someone who doesn’t work for your best interest.
