I was very pleased with the outcome of my case from Mitchell Lee Goldfield. His years of experience in the court system are evident. He and his team helped me receive excellent medical treatment for my injuries as well as ample compensation for my pain. I couldn't have handled juggling the responsibilities of life along with the extra burdens of recovery without them and am so thankful for all their hard work. I would definitely recommend him and his associates to anyone seeking assistance when facing personal injury hardships, they'll work hard to make sure you are taken care of.

When I first had my slip and fell accident I was not sure if I should hire a lawyer or not but after careful consideration my husband and I thought it was best. We met you Mitchell had no idea what would be the out come because we knew nothing about you. But the first day my husband and I walked into your office every thing changed. You made us feel so comfortable from that first day to the last day we walk out satisfy. We're thankful to God for all the work you put into our case for being there when we called and never giving up while always putting us first. I get excited sharing my experience with family friends and strangres where ever the opportunity presents itself. To put it all in a nut shell we have no regrets and we are happy that we choose you to represent us in our law suit. it's that fight and determination to make your clients happy that brought us much success. If we had to do it over again, Mitchell we will hire you over and over again. Continue to work on behalf of your clients. I will recommend you any day. Words are not enough to express our gratitude for all your hard work and determination we're thankful for the friendship formed and all you have done. God Bless

When all of those other lawyers turned my case down I felt so helpless. You guys were very embracing, listened to what I had to say, handed me tissues for my tears. I felt hopeless! You guys took on those corporate lawyers and gave me a voice that they had to listen to and a check out if it! Woo hoo! I think they will think twice about what they sell us consumers from now on. THANK YOU!!!

A few years ago, I retained Mr. Mendelson as my Lawyer. He was recommended by another Attorney who knew Mendelson would be better suited for the job. His assistance would fall under the Education Law category. He helped me to mitigate a mutual agreement between myself and the other party at fault for discriminatory practices. He became my voice and took all the burden from me. I hope he is always available to represent me if I ever need a lawyer again in the future.

Howard and his team were so helpful with my divorce and child custody case. When it comes to child custody it still feels like moms have the upper hand, but with Howard's help I was named Parent of Primary Residence for my son's. He was also able to insure that I receive maximum parenting time with my children with all but two overnights a month in our home. His rates are fair and the quality of service I received was excellent. The best is never cheap, but I believe Davis and Mendelson's services are an excellent value.

He states he is in the business to help your children but truly in the business for money for himself! I had to deal with 2 other attorneys during process from his office because he was too busy. He persuades you in to taking deals that aren't beneficial to your children and yourself. My advise would be to seek someone else. After the entire horrible divorce process, then he charges interest on balance! Now as a single parent, paying the balance alone was bad enough now interest too! He is so insensitive to his clients situation. Divorce is a horrible experience alone and just made worse by struggling through it with this attorney.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Gibbsboro, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
