I was very happy with Attorney Robert Pinizzotto. He was hired for a motor vehicle issue that unexpectedly turned criminal. He's not afraid to think outside of the box to handle issues. He is also very knowledgable in motor vehicle law. His staff is also top notch. The only negative I could provide is that on occasion Bob did not get back to me quickly. This was only on routine questions.

I would highly recommend Robert as your lawyer for DUI charges and any associated tickets. While initially meeting with Robert, he explained in plain English, any questions we had and the consequences to the impending charges. He attended the 7 or 8 court appearances required due to court backlog. He found there was reason to eliminate blood alcohol readings, due to particular circumstances of the DUI event. He presented this to the court and also had 4 out of 5 tickets eliminated. All this reduced our courts costs, by at least half, and eliminated another 3 year state surcharge of $3000, plus probably many points. The loss of license was agreed to 6 months for reckless driving, but would have been at least 2 years and possible jail time, if the DUI charges were not eliminated. Our car insurance would have also reflected an increase in premiums had this not ended so favorably! Robert did an excellent job of applying the law. Hopefully, there will be no further need of his services, but if so, we would return to Robert Pinizzotto to handle our legal concerns, as we have already. Thank you, again, Robert and Nicole!!!

I hired Mr. Pinizzotto because I felt he provided me the best representation. Mr. Pinizzotto is very knowledgeable about the laws of New Jersey and experienced working within the Court System. In addition to the remarkable defense I received, Mr. Pinizzotto provided me invaluable advice and guidance in preparation of my hearing and beyond. For that, I am most appreciative. Mr. Pinizzotto made a very difficult situation much easier to deal with during and helped me recover since. I would recommend Mr. Pinizzotto.

Pros
1
Highly knowledgeable and experienced lawyer with a strong track record of success in court
“Mr. Pinizzotto is virtually unbeatable. The judge mentioned previous cases with circumstances similar to mine and Mr. Pinizzotto knew each case and its complete background and results.”
2
Provides personalized and attentive service, keeping clients informed and guiding them through the legal process

Effective in negotiating favorable outcomes, often able to get charges reduced or dismissed
“Out of the original 5 charges I was facing we managed to reduce everything down to one reckless driving charge, which I gladly accepted.”

I have used Mr. Lombardo in settling my family case which was dragging one year longer than it should have been. I ended up firing my first attorney and retained Mr. Lombardo to take over the case. Attorneys do not like "taking over" the cases that were started and/or butchered by somebody else. It is messy and time consuming for the client and an attorney. However, I've explained my situation to him and Mr. Lombardo agreed to take on the challenge. My case was over in less than one year, after I've hired the Lombardo Law offices. I should have hired them initially and had the case finished 6 mo to a year, instead of 2 years that it took due to "initial" mess. I never had to question Mr. Lombardo' s integrity and his office was always accountable. I never had to "chase" anyone from this office. Whatever needed to be done, was done. If I had the question or a concern, I always received my answer in the timely manner. It may not have been the answer I wanted but, it was the truth and not "sugar coated". Over all, I highly recommend the Law Offices Of Joseph Lombardo. They will fight on your behalf and not just represent you, like some law firms do. - believe me, there is a big difference between the two - I tried both and wish Lombardo Law would have been my first choice. They are ambitious, accountable, honest, trustworthy and understanding.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Hammonton, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
