Easy to work, nice group

Moving back home after my father passed away in 2019, there remained the matter of two vehicles, as well as other assets, willed to my father by a close friend, who had passed away a decade before. The close friend's grandson, after having liquidated all of the assets, refused to lift a finger to help my father transfer the titles of the vehicles, and then completely disappeared from the area. Determined to resolve this issue, I just so happened upon the name of Erwin Apell, the venerated local lawyer who prepared the original deed to our home back in the 1970's. Calling the firm, now Posternock Apell, they immediately took up our case, hiring a private investigator to track down the absentee grandson, then scheduling a hearing with the Surrogate Court to finally deal with the matter. Three years on, after the grandson was still unable to provide the court a copy of the original will, and our original lawyer on the case moved away from the firm, I lost all hope of this issue ever being resolved, until I received a call from Judith Schneider, the new attorney at Posternock Apell, who not only continued to work diligently on our case, but went well beyond the task by bolstering our belief that this matter could somehow be resolved. Well, lo and behold, I just picked up a copy of the original will from Posternock and Apell's new offices, and gratefully shook Judith's hand, in appreciation for all her efforts in bringing this matter to a final conclusion. We will definately be using the services of Posternock Apell again.

We trusted this firm to help us protect our families trust. This is not what happened. We would go for long periods of time not hearing anything about the case. We would always have to email for a follow ups and then got billed for it. We had overwhelming proof that the other party was guilty and we had to settle . We had to pay out of pocket and the other party was able to use the trust for litigation costs. We had to be our own attorney with this firm.

After viewing a number of webinars on estate planning, we decided to work with Russ Nesevich. The approach his firm took to create the plan was by far the easiest and clearest that we had heard. We had two meetings by phone, reviewed drafts and met in person for final signatures. The process took about 3 weeks and the cost was reasonable.
