I was injured at work in 2015, Mr.Ricciadelli responded quickly to my request to review my injuries. That was the ONLY TIME he responded quickly. There was never a time where I called the office after the initial meeting where I was able to speak Mr.Ricciardelli or get any answer about anything from his Staff. He runs his office on a need to know basic; meaning he does not allow his legal secretary or his Par-Legal answer any questions. This shows a lack of trust in his staff.. Ultimately, My case was awarded a Monterey amount but it was long 5 1/2 year’s. Ohh, I nearly forgot to say he threatened to Quit on me at worst time of my life. This happened after I pressed a bit for some answers and was met with the worst compassion I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Mr. Riccardelli knew at this point I was nearly broke and had to sell my house and move in order to survive. Lastly recently I emailed his office about changing my name/address after getting married, I asked his office to update their records also to please give me the information on how I can change my name and address in order to have my payments from the Workers comp insurance sent to my new address and guess what? Nothing no help at all. Calle any other ambulance chaser there is nothing special about His office.

Manfred was always available at any time to help keep me secure through the process. The staff kept updates on emails and correspondence through the entire process. I was injured at work and it required surgery to my shoulder.

Mr. Ricciardelli (Manny) is the best by far. Workman's Comp is a slow process and at times can be very unsettling. Manny explained things in layman's terms. He as well as his office staff are very professional and listened to my venting at times. I couldn't of asked for a better lawyer. I have had lawyers from big corporations and felt like a number not an individual. Manny and his staff will be like family from the beginning. Thanks Manny and the office staff. It was a pleasure

If there were 10 Stars in this rating system I would give Manfred an 11! He commands an impressive knowledge of the law and his expertise in the areas of Workers Compensation, Social Security and Personal Injury is second to none. Besides being extremely intelligent, he is one of the nicest people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. I have no doubt that this man really cared about me as a person and how I was dealing with my situation on a personal level. He is genuinely compassionate. He would check in on me for no reason other than to ask how I and my family were getting along. He is thorough, detail oriented, full of integrity and outstanding at his profession. He has many great traits as a litigator but there is one aspect that stands out the most for me and that is his unbridled passion for justice. I tell you that this cannot be taught. It is intrinsic to his personality. He took my case and instantaneously made it his personal mission. I was blown away by his tenacity and fearlessness in the courtroom and during negotiations. If you are David and you are going up against Goliath, I promise you that there is no one you would rather have on your team than Manfred Ricciardelli.

I've worked with Phil Mazur on several business matters (and have consulted on a personal matter). Mr. Mazur is easy to work with, communicative, takes the time to explain, and without a doubt, knows what he's doing. To top it off, Mr. Mazur is honest and fair. Highly recommended!

Phil Mazur has handled several matters for my company as well as for a few people I know, and he has always been knowledgeable and efficient at getting results. From contracts to litigation, Phil is very savvy and practical in figuring out the best way to approach a situation. I particularly like that he takes the time to really explain to me, as a client, "why" we should take a given approach. In one litigation relating to a commercial real estate matter, he knew how to use just the right approach to get the other side to settle the matter, saving all sides wasted legal expenses. He did what was best for me, the client, even if it kept his bills to a minimum. Phil is knowledgable, ethical and cost effective... its not so easy to find counsel like him these days. MC

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Morris Plains, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
