Joe guided me through a really tough divorce of almost 2 years. His experience, expertise and care for my legal matters and even just my personal life provided me not only a strong legal safety net, but also someone I can go to when anything arose, big or small. He handles himself with integrity and in my experience around him, has a great and very trustworthy reputation within the legal system with other lawyers, judges and representatives. It can be extremely difficult finding a divorce attorney (or any attorney, for that matter), with big firm pull/resources, coupled with a personalized and tailored family law office type feel. Fox has this with Joe and Joe has this with Fox. The latter, Joe's personable character, is what is most critical in an otherwise unpleasant and lengthy process. Accessibility was never an issue. We spoke when we needed to speak, sometimes outside of traditional working hours, fewer times on weekends, but we spoke. But that's what you get with Joe... a well composed, results-oriented executor, who knows full well when to push, when to sit back and when to compromise... a priceless characteristic of counsel. Perhaps Joe's most exemplary quality is his heart. The heart he brings into work, day in and day out, in standing up for his clients' interest. The heart he shows when needing to empathize with one's counterparty for the greater good. I learned lot from Joe, not just about the ins and outs of a traumatic divorce process, but subtler lessons around the art of negotiation, the art of compromise, when to use and when to tame one's emotions, etc. Joe is is a very capable lawyer, an experienced guide and an all-around great human being. Bud from the gate made sure to know my case inside and out and protected me when my Ex and his family lied about events at trial. Bud was determined, and a ruthless litigator but also well liked and respected. Divorce was never in my plan. I never wanted it for sure. And then I found myself facing one. I will admit that with all the attorneys I deal with, I fumbled trying to navigate the trauma of that reality and the very real need for good representation. By circumstance I fell into Bud Murphy's office. Stunned by divorce, making no progress, bleeding cash, hearing I am on the losing end largely because I am dad and I work (my words), and frustrated explaining details of my life and business to people who weren't listening, I felt my case was careening out of control and headed to a very bad outcome. Enter Bud Murhpy. I barely noticed him coming up the curve. He invested real time understanding what I needed to accomplish for my children and for myself, what my priorities were in the case, and the strategy of opposing counsel. He developed a clear view of what our desired outcome was, and he engaged in series of tactics with opposing counsel, the mediator, the forensic accountant, and, frankly, with me to get me as close to there as he could. He worked (hard) this deal. He never lost sight of everything he's seen go horribly wrong with his clients and their children. And he worked the other parties aggressively to ensure that didn't happen here. He never left me thinking we were good when we were not - and gave up ground only when winning was a worse outcome for my kids and I than losing. In the end he got me the best outcome I could have expected - one I can live with. I never felt so represented by an attorney as I did with Bud Murphy. Because of him, my children have another chance at a decent upbringing. Because of him I can put this experience in a box and move on. He knows when to pour on the sugar and work the offline discussions to get to a good outcome, and when to pull out the blowtorch to bend steel. He is an excellent attorney that called me nights and weekends while he worked my case. I truly appreciate and thank him, and cannot recommend him enough. Count my vote for Bud Murphy.
