I wouldn’t trust RAM law with anything. My experience was so bad that I lack the adequate words to describe it to it fully. I first found them and wrote in on their marketing site newjerseysexabuseattorneys. The person in the live chat assured me that if I gave all the sordid details of the abuse I was looking for legal help with - to a complete stranger in that chat box - that someone would call me immediately to set up a consultation. When that didn’t happen by the next week I called the 800 number listed on that same marketing site. I asked the guy who answered if it generally takes a few days to hear back and his response was nonsensical. He spoke perfect native English and yet he responded with a scripted “our law firms handles cases of abuse.” I repeated the question and he again asked for highly personal information about the trauma I was seeking legal representation for. He then started snickering. It gets worse. So so much worse. Not knowing what to do I wrote into the chat box again. I said the guy I spoke on the phone to started laughing and the person in the chat responded….”I will take note of that.” Never asked for his name, the time, or events. See pics attached. I disconnected. Then - The absolute pinnacle of disaster with RAM law happened when I started researching who owned the marketing site. I found RAM law listed at the bottom of the page. I looked them up and called the local number hoping to finally book a consultation and let them know how their marketing site failed them. A woman answered and I explained calmly that I just had a very weird and unprofessional experience on the 800 number. Her response was so over the top, so hideous that I had to put it on speakerphone to have a friend listen in. She said - “yeah ok so I’ll pass it along, is there something you need?” I had literally only told her I had a weird experience. I have no idea what she thought she would pass along. I asked her if she wanted to know what exactly happened so it could be appropriately addressed and she said - “CAN I HELP YOU OR DID YOU JUST CALL TO COMPLAIN?!” I repeated that someone at the 800 number started laughing and she said - I don’t know why you’re calling, do you want a consultation or what?!” At the point I started crying she slammed the phone down and apparently went to the marketing department. When she came back she said she didn’t even know there was a secondary website with an 800 number so she was misunderstanding me and she let the marketing department know there was an issue. She still didn’t have my name, the reps name or the people that were part of the chat box. Clearly they could not care less. This was so over the top nasty, inappropriate and horrible to do when you run a site for traumatized victims that I wouldn’t trust RAM law to buy toilet paper off a grocery list without making the situation worse. This is a Law Mill. You are not a human to them, not an individual they want to help, you are a dollar sign. Here’s what I propose. Since I was asked to give all the details to complete strangers so I could be dismissed, berated, laughed at and UNBELIEVABLY YELLED AT BY THE WOMAN IN THE OFFICE, I am happy to post every detail on every single survivor site across the country. Every support group, every local gathering I attend, every forum and every review site. I can’t see someone so much as going through this if their injury was a broken leg, but the types of emotional injuries they’re putting themselves out there for - STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS “LAW FIRM.” I don’t care if you disagree or not. You set up a consultation after I was screamed at by your office. This is neither appropriate, humane or professional. It is disgusting. And I have a friend witness it. Should they review you too??

Outstanding Real Estate Attorney – Highly Recommend! I recently had the pleasure of working with Tara Parente from The Law Offices of Nazario and Parente LLC for a real estate transaction, and I couldn’t be more impressed with her professionalism and expertise. From the very beginning, Tara took the time to explain every detail of the process, ensuring that I felt confident and informed every step of the way. Tara is incredibly knowledgeable about real estate law and provided invaluable guidance that made the transaction smooth and stress-free. Her responsiveness was exceptional; any time I had a question or concern, she was quick to respond and always had clear, thoughtful answers. Not only was Tara thorough and meticulous with the paperwork, but she also advocated for my best interests during negotiations, helping me secure favorable terms. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her clients and goes above and beyond to ensure a positive outcome. We hired Eric Morrell to represent our daughter, after becoming very dissatisfied with her previous lawyer. From the first meeting with Eric, we left the office feeling confident and hopeful that the case would be resolved in her favor. Eric is very knowledgeable, personable, and very easy to talk to. I liked that he didn't sugarcoat anything. He and his assistant, Lauren, kept in constant contact with us so that we never had to wonder what was going on with the case. In the end, he got us the outcome that we had hoped for. We were overly satisfied with his service and I would definitely recommend him.

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of New Brunswick, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
