There are times in our live where we all slip and fall and make mistakes, you get pushed so hard that your mentality in a bad place, I was in that place even at 63 a dad of 2 college kids. Being guilty with an explanation actually in the right hands is a thing. Especially in the hands of a lawyer that understands and can convey that to a judge.
