I never met Brad and he does not know me from Adam. I emailed him and called his office and spoke with Natalie in panic because I received IRS letter I did not understand about levy she couldn`t be more understanding and very professional. (BTW I found Brad on line and his reviews were outstanding) He answered my email and later called and explained my options. I am retired and was worried about my social security my credit rating etc. Thank you Brad, I slept better. Sincerely Raymond i

The phenomenal work that Brad performed for my case was well worth that first consultation visit. He made me feel like I was in good hands and that he had plenty of experience in my particular situation. I was handed a $160K levy by the IRS which I could not handle on my own. After researching many other tax law firms in San Diego, RJS Law was on the top of the list. Soon after speaking with Brad Paladini during my free consultation is when I knew that I could set my worries on this matter to the side as he immediately knew what steps to take to dispute the charges, as well as remedy the “miscommunication”, which eventually led to my current liability owed of $0. He handled all of the communication between the IRS and myself so that way nothing was lost in translation. I cannot thank Brad enough for his assistance. He was always available to answer my questions and was very professional throughout the entire time. Peace of mind is what I have now. I highly recommend Brad Paladini for tax representation.

I cannot recommend Dunn Lambert highly enough! From start to finish, they handled my case with the utmost professionalism, efficiency, and expertise. They were always on top of deadlines and incredibly thorough in their approach, leaving no detail overlooked. Their deep knowledge of the law and strategic thinking resulted in a favorable settlement with no payment required on my part—an outcome I couldn’t have imagined without their guidance. Throughout the process, they kept me informed and confident, answering all my questions with patience and clarity. Harlan Cohen was not only highly skilled but also approachable and supportive, making a stressful situation far more manageable. If you’re looking for a lawyer who will fight for you, deliver results, and maintain the highest level of professionalism, look no further. Truly outstanding service!

I had the occasion to be represented by Mr Tao Cho in a difficult business matter. I found him to be very effective, well reasoned and pragmatic in protecting my interests. He was calm and thoughtful where appropriate and forceful where needed. This balanced approach was particularly apparent in hindsight. I would recommend him as an attorney completely without reservation. Dr. Roger Kriete

Tae Cho represented my company for an APA and Lease Agreement, and we cannot say enough great things about our experience! Tae is extremely knowledgable and diligent. It was clear from our first conversation that his priority was to be sure we reached agreements with the sellers/landlords that were truly in our best interests. He was consistently responsive and made sure both my partner and I had a clear understanding of what was included in both agreements. We cannot recommend Tae Cho and Dunn and Lambert enough and will continue to utilize their services for future business matters.

Harry helped me with a life changing immigration petition and I was fortunate enough to see his strategic vision, his depth in experience that showed in the petition development and documentation development along with his execution prowess that helped me get to my goal a lot faster. Special mention to Ainsley Harrel who showed significant depth in a technical topic that I had to develop along with her to reinforce my petition. She went above and beyond to spend time listening to me, understand my role, contributions, that eventually made it to my petition. Together, Harry and his team were prompt, encouraging, strategic, fast, empathetic and were available throughout my journey to talk with me on my situation, petition development and in general give me the success that I wanted.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Paramus, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
