It is with great pleasure that I highly recommend Richard S Nichols, Stanley W Kallmann, and Elizabeth A Compton at Weiner Law Group for their outstanding performance in representing me for a personal injury case. Overwhelmed and wondering how to best proceed with my injuries, Mr. Kallmann recommended Mr. Nichols for his expertise in personal injuries. Mr. Nichols worked diligently to investigate all potential avenues forward, and recommend a legal path to navigate my situation, maximizing financial results, while minimizing impact on me. He continuously informed his partners and me of the updated status of my case, and his group was always aware of what was being proposed or required further discussion. Mr. Nichols is a remarkable hands-on, detail oriented lawyer. He identified and acquired all the important medical documents and videos; and with efficient perseverance, he negotiated insurance liens placed on my account. Mr. Nichols legal knowledge, dependable follow up, negotiating skills, and reliable communication style were absolutely incredible. He knows exactly how to get an awesome personal injury settlement. Mr. Nichols and the Weiner Law Group have an extensive group of lawyers that know how to get amazing results. I feel privileged to have Mr. Nichols, a partner, and his group to represent me.

My attorney left the practice, I was assigned a new attorney who was efficient & responsive but he too just left. I had emailed him asking for any updates and I received an automatic reply informing me that he no longer works there & I was provided with another attorneys email address. I emailed him that same day, no reply & I left a voicemail message to introduce myself & my situation. I waited about a week, emailed again, no reply. Eventually I realised I wouldn’t receive a response & called the office directly. Reception is abrupt, not welcoming at all, & transfers my call so quickly that I don’t even get the opportunity to ask anything such as, “what’s their email address?” Or “May I have their direct number?” . I was now transferred to another attorney’s assistant & I left her a voicemail message providing my email address & phone number. You guessed it, no reply. I called the next 2 days, transferred directly to assistant’s voicemail, messages left…no reply. I left a voicemail on the general voicemail system hoping someone would actually hear my concerns. Approximately 2 days later I received a call from another attorney. She was very pleasant & seemed to hear my concerns and current situation. She informed that her assistant would call me in the following Tuesday. You guessed it, NO REPLY! I waited for another week giving her the benefit of the doubt then decided to find a phone number & or email address, I have called her numbers, left messages daily since that day. I am only asking for an update for a recent motion done in person on 10/20/23 @ 9am. Guess what, I have had NO REPLY, just crickets! In my messages I have even stated, even if there’s nothing new to report, have reception call me or any assistant call me just tell me something, anything! So my 1 star is generous.

Kristen is an amazing real estate lawyer. She helped me close on the house of my dreams, an REO property which had a very stubborn bank. She knows how to navigate the system and negotiate to get the best possible deal. She always sticks to her word, makes sure the client understands everything, works tirelessly and with extreme dedication. Even at times I was willing to throw in the towel she managed to pick me up and get me back in the game. Buying a property is stressful but you need a lawyer like Kristen to make sure you're not being deceived, to cover your back, and to negotiate strong and hard to get you the best deal possible. I fully urge you to use Kristen Klics for all your real estate needs!

Mr. Garibian is a passionate attorney that will listen to you and fight for your desired outcome. One of Chris’s outstanding qualities is his ability to relate to his clients. Chris kept me calm, cool and collected during the entire process. Our conversations were refreshing and my mind was at ease. The paralegals are fabulous and on top of their game. I will be forever grateful for Chris and his staff.

A truly great attorney to have on your side. Chris made sure I understood everything, every step of the way. He always explained all my options and possible outcomes, in order to help me make the best decisions for me and my specific case. He always got back to me quickly when I reached out to him with questions. A very smart attorney, who really saved me from the mess my horrible previous attorney had gotten me into. I would recommend no one else ever over Chris. He is simply, the best.

  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Parsippany, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
