Awful lawyer. It i could give zero star I would ! She sent a letter to my ex husband’s lawyer making demands without advising me, without my consent !!!! And she had the audacity to charge me on top of that for her service !!! Who sends a letter to the other party without advising their client. It is actually my ex husband who was furious who had to inform me that his lawyer had received something. Gina did not have ben call to apologize nothing despite the fact that I asked her to call me !!

From the start, tells you what you want to hear. Afterwards, does not care about your specific needs whatsoever. Responds and works mostly with short emails that keep you confused and hanging on. "Important family and financial matters should never mostly be discussed via email between attorney and client. It works well for the attorney but not for the client." Doesn't offer any solutions to your problems and you are left feeling like you are being preyed upon your weakness to bring in $$ for the firm. Total lack of communication between staff members, and is oblivious to the key points pertaining to your case because other staff members are working on your case and you have to pay everyone so they can play catch up with each other. Poor billing department that makes mistakes. In my case it was over $2,500 that I was billed for another clients work. Highly fidgety and emotionally unstable and not patient character which makes you afraid to ask questions and ask for help. STAY AWAY, ONLY OUT FOR THE MONEY AND HAS NO EMPATHY TOWARDS YOUR FAMILY MATTER.

I hired Gina to handle my divorce which was a little complicated due to finances. I found her, Ruth Kim and staff to be attentive to a complicated case.

Gina is highly emotional and unable to get on with the local judges and fellow lawyers. Her attitude toward them did my case untold damage. her staff as very incompetent as well.

My husband and I were very anxious having to refinance our home, but Michael LiPari and all working for him were wonderful. Everyone was friendly, professional and answered all questions, no matter how many we had. I would highly recommend Bond Street Mortgage and Michael LiPari and his team.

Mike and his team were wonderful to work with. Mike was recommended to us by our realtor and we were extremely pleased with the outcome. He made our home purchase a smooth and enjoyable process. He guided us with our purchase, giving us options that we didn't even realize were possible. Without Mike's help, we wouldn't be enjoying our new home. Mike went above and beyond, even coming to us for our first meeting, which was both informative and friendly. Mike's team was easy to work with and kept constant communication throughout the process. We would absolutely use Mike and his team in the future and have already recommended him to family. Thanks, Mike.

Michael LiPari and his team are phenomenal. Michael came as a recommendation to us and we could not have been more grateful for it. He made our first home purchase a smooth and enjoyable process. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all aspects of home buying. Additionally, he went the extra mile to accommodate our needs whether is was finance concerns or after hour questions we needed answered. Michael and his team genuinely wanted to make sure we found the right home with the right financing for us. I cannot say enough how much his sincerity and knowledge meant to us as first time home buyers! I would recommend Michael and his team without hesitation and will be using him again for the foreseeable future should we buy another home down the road! Thanks, Mike!

We all 3 of us including me, my wife and son hired the services of Neil Dornbaum for becoming Citizens of the United States. Neil and one of his team members – Marial Velasquez provided us with all services including collecting the information to fill out the form, submitting, and tracking the status of the application including date of Interviews and the Oath of Allegiance. They also provided timely communications with the updated information, guidance, and the material for preparation for Naturalization process prior to each stage and the milestones to successfully cross over. Today, we took the Oath of Allegiance and me and my family are now the citizens of the proud United States in just 7 months after we applied for Citizenship and Naturalization process. The Neil and his office staff’s full control over the documentation requirements, compliant filling of the application forms with no room for RFEs, directions to prepare for both Interviews and Oath of Allegiance, tracking and communicating each and every step during immigration processes and timely status updates were all commendable, and exceeded our expectations. I strongly recommend to all those who are aspiring to immigrate to USA as permanent residents or citizens to reach out and avail the services from Neil Dornbaum, who is the assurance for you and your family as a trustworthy Lawyer and will strive his best to make y’our dreams come true.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Roseland, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
