I had the good luck to be referred to Ms. Spence by a friend who saw her ad, quite by accident. I live in Brooklyn and took public transit out out to West Orange. The effort was rewarded more than I can say. Ms Spence is organized, knowledgeable, compassionate, patient, and thoughtful. She knows how to get the job done, and helps you help yourself. Three months after our first visit, I received notice that my application for SSD was approved. This is some kind of miracle; my case was not straightforward and she visualized a strategy that worked from beginning to end. I can't thank her enough or recommend her highly enough.

If I could provide a zero review for my experience with Gail Spence and her paralegal Khalfani, I genuinely would. I reviewed Gail’s Google reviews thinking that Gail would be a good person to seek legal advice from, so I had my loved one call her office and what a mistake. Gail and Khalfani were argumentative, lacked empathy and were overall very negative. My loved one was told by Khalfani that ‘if Gail was interested in taking his case that she’d call, if not, she wouldn’t’. Could you imagine receiving that message if you really needed legal advice and guidance. It made us feel like our case was not worthy and that we should wait around to find out if Gail had time/interest in this case. Once I learned about this interaction, my first thought was is this how a law professional should talk to a potential client that is disabled? I called the office back to ask why they would speak to a disabled person like that and it was only because I promised to leave a negative review that Gail called my loved one. I could hear Gail speaking on the phone, she was very rushed and nasty and showed an obvious lack of caring and concern for what my loved one was going through. I heard him ask Gail if she could hold for a moment while he could get his advocate (me) on the phone and I heard her say, ‘I’d rather not, no’. I am not only leaving this review to warn future clients, but also to say that Gail and Khalfani should be in the Hall of Shame for treating and talking to a disabled person in the way that her office has. If you are going through something serious, I recommend that you find another attorney because Gail and her office are a mess. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this behavior. ... I was on the phone and heard the entire conversation Gail; your 'justification' is inexcusable and disheartening. Again... there is no excuse for your behavior. Covering it up shows a lack of accountability and responsibility. You're clearly only after money.

My experience with this law firm is nothing less than five stars, I wish that I could add more! I appreciate the outstanding customer service that I was provided at the Gail A. Spence Law Firm. Her and her staff was very professional and friendly. Ms. Spence is very competent, honest, and knowledgeable. She took the time to understand and know me. Ms. Spence and her team kept me informed throughout the process which I had no knowledge of.  There was never a time where I called the office and did not receive a prompt return call. She is simply AMAZING at what she does!  My life is forever changed. If you are looking for a SSD attorney look no further!
