Mr stahl care only about money and does not want to fight for his clients. Nor does he want to speak with anyone I spent weeks trying to have a conversation with him for him never to return my calls emails or any other communication he shows up unprepared and won’t even respect the courts enough to stand up when asked all to rise. He asked me for more money before we went to court and when I asked him what he has done for the retainer I already paid him he could not give me an answer. It’s sad when you put your confidence in somewhere and the won’t give you any respect I hope this review will help someone from wasting their money and costing them in life. You should be ashamed of your self Mr stahl

I reached out to a few law firms regarding a small claim. This law firm was the first one to get back to me. Spoke to one of the lawyers, sent him all my files and documents he asked for. He said, and I quote: “it will move pretty fast after this”. I waited one week to give him/them time to review and get back to me. I called MANY times, left voicemails, called and left messages with the front desk and nothing! Not one phone call, not one email, VERY unprofessional! The least that they could have done was let me know they don’t want the case so I can move on and find someone else. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

The day we found out my moms cancer had spread to her liver, bones & lungs she was given days, if a week, to live. At some point during the hours that followed my mom told me she didn’t have a will. Thankfully, she remembered the name of the law firm she used years ago that handled my grandmother & grandfathers estates. I called immediately and spoke to Tess, one of the paralegals. Tess was so kind & compassionate and 15 minutes later I was at the nurses station in the hospital printing out the estate planning document she had sent for us to complete. The next morning my mom had a call with John Blasi, the attorney, and Tess to discuss her assets in more detail. They explained everything slowly and in terms we could understand and when my mom was finally sent home into hospice we were given a priority appointment to sign the very next morning. We arrived to the office early, stricken with grief with our mother who could barely walk. The staff was so helpful getting her inside & comfortable as we prepared to read through the final draft and sign. Everyone there made such an effort to expedite the signing process so we could get my mom back home. We were back in the car & on our way in 30 minutes. My mom passed away 4 days later. I can not thank John, Tess and the rest of the staff enough for their help getting her affairs in order so quickly and doing so with so much kindness and compassion. To handle legal matters while facing such a devastating reality can be overwhelming to say the least. This law firm went above and beyond to make the process as stress free and easy as possible. I highly recommend their services and will continue to use them for my family as well.

I worked directly and frequently with Mr. Jason Grauch for several years licensing patents in a corporate environment that involved the semiconductor electronics industry. Jason's calm demeanor, as well as his in-depth knowledge of patent law, always made me feel like we were the smartest team in the room. I traveled with Jason in stressful conditions in Asia many times and I always enjoyed his pleasant conversation both in and out of our business environment. Jason was often assigned the most difficult legal interpretations, but he never avoided the challenge and always offered the most detailed and comprehensive opinions. I would recommend Jason Grauch for any legal matter.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Westfield, New Jersey?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
