Terry & deGraauw is a law firm you can trust. My concerns were always addressed promptly and professionally. The lawyers and staff at Terry & deGraauw are always there when I need them. I have worked with the firm for years and nothing negative to share. I believe they are the best family law practice in New Mexico.

Judges, mediators, attorneys, and clients take note. The divorce world needs more attorneys like Jennifer Degraauw. Jennifer and her paralegal Raesha effectively guided me through a minefield of legal cheap shots and dirty tactics. They regularly helped me see the big picture, focus on kids, coparenting, and resolving our messy divorce as quickly and amicably as possible. By following her guidance, I was able to attain a fair outcome without having to attack the other party or further traumatize the children. Jennifer takes an objective view of the situation and sees things the way a judge would see them. She asked me to voluntarily take actions which at the time seemed unfair and unnecessary, but in retrospect they helped me avoid costly hearings and headache. She is also well suited for high-asset cases due to her strong comprehension of business ownership, tax implications, investments and property. Lastly, Jennifer could have easily dragged my case out to make more money, but clearly she has plenty of business and money is not her motivator. She is passionate about family law for all the right reasons. If you're lucky enough to retain her for your case, follow her advice. You'll thank her later.

I normally never write reviews but I highly recommend Terry & deGraauw for your family law needs. Kathryn went above and beyond in ensuring that I understood the situation, my available options and the best course of action to achieve results. As a team, they made a very difficult experience manageable and took personal care to ensure the best possible experience. It was an absolute pleasure working with Kathryn, JD, Chelsey and Lupe among everyone else on the team and I would hands down recommend them whenever legal representation is needed.

From my initial intake call, to the upcoming close of my divorce proceedings, TDG has been absolutely incredible. Chelsey Pelzman made navigating this whole process as seamless as possible, always focusing on what is the most important and never resorting to malicious tactics with opposing counsel to seek resolution. She is prompt, professional, and truly listens to her clients. She is reasonable and honest about her professional opinion and recommendations on how to proceed, while still listening to her clients and prioritizing what is most important to them. Her demeanor is so pleasant, and she is so easy to talk to. Additionally, this is not a law firm that unnecessarily incurs expenses for their clients, and they are extremely reasonable with their fees. I cannot recommend this firm enough, especially Chelsey, Raesha, and Juan Diego. All of them are exemplary and made this process as stress-free as possible.

My sister obtained Jennifer as her attorney for a horrible divorce. Jennifer and her paralegal are the absolute BEST. Jennifer's paralegal is better than most attorneys. Jennifer is helpful, understanding and extremely knowledgeable. Her negotiations skills were nothing short of exceptional. I've personally made several referrals to Jennifer because she's the BEST! She is truly worth every penny my sister spent. She and her paralegal are so understanding and truly CARE about their clients. Bottom line: Hire her and get the best results possible.

Terry and deGrauuw are a team of skilled professionals. I was impressed with how different members of the office handled different tasks. While this level of division of labor can sometimes result in failed or miscommunication, that was never the case with T&D. Everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. I was concerned about costs of my case getting out of hand, but after expressing this to the team, they did seem to work to do all they could to honor my request while still operating in every way for my best legal interests. As a testament to this, my case worked out about as well as I could have expected, and much better than it might have. I am extremely appreciative of the sensitivity, empathy, and wisdom Ms. deGrauuw employed throughout the case. When I began looking for a divorce attorney, it was overwhelming. Everyone knows there are many, many lawyers out there, and I'm sure many who are capable. I work among a host of lawyers, and after some asking around, I was given the opinion that Ms. deGrauuw "is the best family law attorney in the state." That was all I needed to hear.

Julio and David treated me well during a difficult time, which is thankfully over. Overall, if I could describe my experience here in one word it would be “comfortable.” You have to have trust in a law firm, and I certainly did here. Thank you, I would recommend to someone in my similar situation.

Makes up lies about opposing party without verifying actual facts.

There is just no way I would have made it through 2022 without Martinez, Hart, Sanchez & Romero/Oso Law Firm - this is simply an INCREDIBLE group of lawyers. I was in a traumatic car accident while visiting a friend in Albuquerque, and experienced challenges with being able to walk, alongside trauma symptoms that continued for months afterward. The issues involved in the case were quite complicated and would have been impossible to navigate on my own, as I had to return to another state, where I live. I feel so incredibly lucky to have been referred to this firm by a family friend who lives locally. Not only was my legal team relentless and thorough in terms of how they dealt with my case, but they were able to provide me with emotional support and space to heal while I was going through PTSD after the accident (I also have other forms of trauma that were triggered as well). I didn't have to worry about a single detail of this case, and I completely trusted them to look at every aspect of the legal issues, in order to pursue the most effective action. Dealing with all of the parties in this case was not easy, but they didn't allow me to feel any of the pressure they might have been experiencing, and at the same time, they consulted with me every step of the way - the process felt so collaborative. Larissa Lozano in particular is simply a phenomenal human being - she is the kind of lawyer who is in the field because she believes in helping people through their toughest times. Through almost 10 months of working on this case, she was incredibly warm, compassionate, and understanding - and I still haven't met her or anyone on the team face-to-face, which is incredible to me! There were things she did to help me that were practically MacGuyver-esque and simply above and beyond what any lawyer would be expected do - and that my own loved ones probably wouldn't have done. I learned through the course of working with Larissa that she is especially committed to working with those who have experienced sexual assault, which made me cherish her even more. As a social worker myself, I see that Larissa not only has legal expertise, but is also trauma-informed in how she works with her clients. I felt so safe and comfortable talking with her (it took a couple months to stop crying every time we talked), and especially for those who have experienced personal injuries that are far more traumatic than what I went through, she has a deep sensitivity to the needs of clients who are surviving difficult times. Larissa is a gem! She is also an incredibly detail-oriented, ethical and rigorous lawyer. The legal documents she and the team produced were remarkable, brilliantly written and showed a detailed understanding of case law, along with thorough research and framing of issues. She was also amazing at negotiating with insurance companies. Larissa was willing to take on my case, and it was the greatest blessing I had after the accident. I am forever grateful to her. I also had the chance to work with Julio Romero, who advised on the case, and Deney Perkins, who provided support with all of the legal documents - they were both fantastic! The communication between everyone on the team was seamless and easy, and they were always accessible for any questions I had (which were many, and I imagine, often granular and probably annoying :-) ). I was very lucky to be able to work with Larissa, Julio and Deney, and I simply can't repay Oso Law Firm for everything they did for me. I would recommend them to ANYONE who has suffered from a personal injury and needs someone on their side.
