I can't say enough good things about working with Klafehn, Heise & Johnson P.L.L.C (specifically working with Samantha Sullivan)! I researched and met with at least 5 different law offices before deciding to trust KHJ Law with my business legal questions and formation of my LLC. Samantha was always quick to reply and her responses showed the importance she placed on my business. I met in person with Samantha and Kevin and they were very personable and kind. If i could leave zero stars, I would. After our mother passed, we hired Kevin Johnson to administer the (very small) estate that remained. I have never met such a flippant, arrogant, unprofessional attorney in all my years working in the white collared world. When asking him questions regarding his advice that conflicted with other state and local agencies, he COMPLETELY lost his professional bearing and screamed at us for questioning him, and personally insulted us. I was appalled at such behavior. He violated his own "client's bill of rights". I understand billing better than anyone, but we were even billed when we had to review their documents and correct their spelling, grammar and facts that they had gotten wrong multiple times. When his paralegal bills you $125 PER HOUR (the national average is at best $30/hr) and then hands it to Mr Johnson who bills you another $250 per hour, I would expect that they know basic spelling and grammar. It was like pulling teeth to get him to do anything, and every time we called or emailed to ask about progress or follow up, they would BOTH bill us. When we sold our mothers property, we utilized Mr Johnson for continuity. At tax time, our personal account found several questionable issues regarding their numbers and the application of tax laws. When we brought this to their attention and needed more information, Mr Johnson and his firm were MINIMUMALLY cooperative at best, and made it VERY difficult to ascertain the problem. As it turned out, he and his is firm made a FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR MISTAKE, and if it werent for the diligent work of our master tax preparer, I never would have known and would not have recovered the $5,000! I WOULD NOT recommend Kevin Johnson or his firm. He had no compassion for what we were experiencing with the loss of our mother, and was not willing to listen to our concerns. He was very complacent and disrespectful. He acted as though it was a bother to explain his strategies or thought process, which I would expect him to kindly do for the amount of money we paid. When speaking with him, it was as if he had no prior recollection of previous conversations. It was obvious he had had spent zero time in preparation or reviewing our case to be familiar enough to speak to it intelligibly, despite paying him thousands of dollars to do so. If you need legal representation to defend the life's work of your parents, Mr Johnson is NOT the representation you want. Hire a true professional with YOUR interests in mind who has the compassion to fight for you and your family and do the job you hired them to do accurately, ethically, and professionally.

I met with Mr. Heise yesterday for no more than 15 minutes before he pushed my mothers file over to me finishing our appointment wishing me luck. He never looked over her estate papers before I came to meet him for the first time. Money must not be an issue for him but any penny my mother had was important to her. He couldn’t believe I was basically worried about an account with only $50 dollars in it but if he had payed attention he would have seen the statement was from 2009. I have never met a more flip person in my life and I feel he needs to retire as he truly could care less about clients. How can you know about someone’s estate within 10 minutes. I hope that anyone that was referred to this firm by their retiring attorney look elsewhere for a new attorney.

Kevin & Niki handled the purchase of our new home and sale of our previous home. They were a pleasure to work with. They made the process as smooth and easy as house closings can be. We appreciated that they were easy to reach, super friendly, and very responsive. They both explained the process and all paperwork thoroughly and in an understandable way. They were quick and responsive answering any questions we had. Everything was handled timely and we really appreciate all the work they put into it.
