Mark and his firm truly set the standard in terms of family legal counsel. He could not be more professional, knowledgable, responsive, instinctual, or kind. He helped guide me to make choices that would give my case a better position, he never passed judgment, and truly got me through a really hard life chapter.

Mark is sharp as a tack and has extensive knowledge of the legal framework surrounding divorce and custody disputes. He guided me through a tricky separation with compassion and empathy. I met Mark when we were much younger and had taken to the road to find ourselves. We backpacked and hitchhiked together. Men and women alike fell in love with him and his intimate, intelligent, interested, and easy nature. He smiled his way though robberies, camel wrestling and border crossings. I went to look for him and here I find him a lawyer. By way of recommendation I will share a story. We were together in Washington DC for a large protest. As we walked around we came across three very large and angry men dressed in camouflage hunting outfits as they physically attacked a protester. Some people watched, the police stumbled over themselves looking the other way. This was before BLM. Mark did not hesitate. He kept walking right up to them and said one word to get their attention. The three men RAN AWAY. Six hundred pounds of angry drunken redneck fled from a bookish guy who was always laughing. This impressed me that physical strength was the least of the abilities of a man. He is a man to inspire others to action and the kind they make movies about. Mark was the very embodiment of moral authority. In a very real way he put his life on the line for right to prevail over wrong. After seeing him drink russians under the table it was only to be expected. In my later years I am surprised how strong and giving he was of himself. When last I heard he was refusing to work as an arabic translator for the CIA for fear he would be used to enable torture. It is only so perfect that he is now a lawyer.

I called Mark for a consultation on a custody case, and it was the smartest decision I made. He clearly cares about each client and their outcome, and took time to understand my case and circumstances. His insight was unique, as he himself has experienced divorce. So his advice and ability to strategize and see several steps ahead, and to be very understanding and comforting comes from both his legal experience and his personal experience. After hearing my situation, he spent a great deal of time helping me understand my options. Unfortunately I didn't live where he practiced, but anyone who has him as a lawyer clearly gets someone who cares deeply for his clients which is so helpful when going through such a painful experience.
