Having witnessed the difference that elder-law attorneys made in the lives of our parents, we did not need to be convinced that we would seek assistance from a highly recommended elder-law attorney when our time arrived. We hired Judy to help us get 24 hour care for my Mom. Our calls and letters to her MLTC provider did not result in anything so I sought an assistance of an attorney. Ms Grimaldi handled the Medicaid application for my elderly parent. Her fee was equivalent to an entire year's worth of my mom's social security benefits -- to file a simple application. She convinced us that we needed her and how her firm could do what no one else could. In speaking to someone at the Medicaid office, I learned that there were things Ms Grimaldi neglected to inform us, namely that they make their determination based on my mother's doctor's report, not any document generated by the lawyer and that the application could have been processed for free, had we done it directly with Medicaid. I would never recommend anyone who exploits the elderly in such an egregious way.
