One word to describe my experience with Mr. Peter Kolp: WOW! After I made a few bad decisions, I thought my life was over. But then word-of-mouth led me to Peter and I promptly hired him as my criminal defense attorney. He went well beyond the call of duty to achieve the best possible outcome for my case, and for that I will be forever grateful! Always available, forever encouraging, Peter played a major role in my decision to pursue a career in the legal field. In August I will be an ABA-certified paralegal, I am applying to law school, and I am currently working as a legal advocate for a public interest law firm in PA. Pete does a lot of cases which I am sure are very lucrative but he gave my case special attention though it didn’t have to do anything with getting money (personal injury) and I’m pretty sure that I paid this man a fraction of what other clients pay him for bigger matters. However, I was in a tough situation where I had hired a lawyer previous to him who told me to do time and that I would inevitably get a record. My brother directed me to peter, and from day one peter really turned a crappy situation into one where I did no time and the charge was downgraded to a violation (non-criminal matter). I am not religious but I have to thank God through Jesus Christ for finding peter because I was surely praying to not ruin my record, and My prayers were answered. I highly recommend this lawyer.

I decided to hire Peter after some research and an initial consultation. I found Peter to be a nice, no BS, down to earth guy and attorney who knows the law and tells it like it is. He is also a busy guy but always got back to me regarding any questions. This was my first time being arrested and it was a stressful time. When I sent Peter an email with some lingering concerns as my court date approached, he responded with a detailed email addressing my concerns. Peter later texted me informing me that he was able to meet with the DA and get my misdemeanor assault charge reduced to a violation (not a crime), which will be sealed and off my record after one year. In September of this year, I found myself in steep legal trouble as I traveled from Canada to NY to attend a local music festival and was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (CPCS) in the Seventh Degree. As a foreigner in a foreign land with foreign laws, I was petrified playing out the possible consequences I might have to face. I got in touch with John Carney, who referred me to Peter, whom John works with. Peter is very knowledgeable of the NY legal system and has had many clients in the past that have dealt very drug possession charges. I wasn't able to travel to NY for my court date due to work commitments; Peter represented me and fought hard for the best outcome (ACD) for my case. He was prompt in his replies and was always patient in understand my concerns. I am very grateful for having retained his service, no complaints whatsoever. This past summer, I was arrested at a festival in NYC for criminal possession of a controlled substance where I was given a DAT to return at a later date to be arraigned. In July of this year, I found myself in a very unfortunate situation where I was being charged with 2 felonies in a small town in Long Island for essentially possessing fake IDs. Throughout the process, Peter calmed my nerves - as I was terrified about the repercussions these charges would have on my future - and ensured that he would do the very best that he could in getting me the best results possible. On just the 2nd court date (which is extremely difficult to do for a case such as this in a small town such as that), he was able to get my felonies reduced to a simple violation that will be sealed and then erased after a duration of 6 months.
