Christine was my divorce lawyer and truly did an excellent job on my behalf. My soon to be ex-wife was out for blood and wanted alimony, half of everything, lawyers fees paid for.. Christine looked at my case and told me we aren't giving her a penny. And that is what happened, she didn't get any money from me for her or her lawyer, didnt get half of my stuff (just her stuff that was left in the apt) and she actually had to write me a check for $5,000! In addition, Christine is just as nice as can be and was there when I needed to talk or for info. I can wholeheartedly recommend Christine!

I hired Jordan Trager for a difficult family matter and I couldn’t have been more pleased with his skills! He was extremely attentive, and provided excellent advise along the way! We did win the case but even if we didn’t I still would hire Jordan again! The office is great too! 5 stars!!

I engaged Wisselman & Associates back in April of 2017 to discuss my divorce case, they were one of several lawyers in the Great Neck/Long Island area I was considering to handle my case. From the moment I contacted them, *as this was my first divorce (and hopefully my last!) I had a number of questions I sought answers for, and I was treated very kindly by the person who handled my initial inquiry, and set up a consultation for me with counselor Mr. Jerome Wisselman. Mr. Wisselman was very kind and understanding during my consultation, and tactfully extracted all the facts he needed to understand how he could best handle my case, as well as helping me detach from the emotional aspect of the divorce, and focus on the desired end result, explaining the process in detail, and associated court & filing fee's, as well as detailing the specifics of the retainer fee (which I will say was very reasonable compared to other attorney's I had reached out to) Once I agreed to select Wisselman & Associates to represent me in my divorce proceedings, I was introduced to Halyna Sarlanis, who was the paralegal assigned to my case. I sat down with Halyna, who further explained what documents and information I would need to provide, in order for the process to move forward. Halyna was most helpful and understanding, availing herself and her time to answer all my questions, and spend time on the phone with me when I had questions as the case progressed, and always went out of her way to follow up and report back to me on the details of my case as it involved a fair amount of back & forth between the firm and my former spouse. I was lead to believe originally my former partner was seeking a simple no-fault divorce, but then (as often is the case, the situation took a bit of an unexpected turn, which seemed to delay the progress of filing for the divorce, but thanks to some very pointed and timely interactions by both Halyna & Mr. Wisselman to my former partner's counselor, and spelling out exactly what we considered to be fair and reasonable, those barriers were removed, and I received word from Ms. Sarlanis that they received the signed and notarized documents required for filing my non-contested divorce settlement with the court, and everything was in order so that the paperwork should move through the system as a matter of procedure, and a judge will have everything they need in order to process and sign off on the divorce without incident. I can't thank Halyna enough for her dedication and professionalism and follow up skills on my behalf in reaching out to my former partner and ensuring the necessary documents required from them were received, reviewed, signed and notarized. I know it wasn't the easiest task for her, but I was ALWAYS kept in the loop and contacted as to where we stand and what actions were being taken to ensure the divorce could move forward as soon as possible, and with as little additional financial impact to me. I'm most pleased with the outcome and the time frame in which my divorce was handled, and would like to thank both Halyna & Mr. Wisselman for their efforts in representing me in this matter. It was a pleasure dealing not only with them, but the office staff I interacted with during several visits I made to their office. Everyone I met was kind, professional, attentive to my concerns, and genuinely friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend Wisselman & Associates if you are seeking representation in a divorce matter. I worked with Ms. Amanda Green on the closing of my home of 54 years. She showed professionalism and grace. She was very patient with me and explained everything along the way. They are not honest, especially Jacqueline Harounian ,who is professional liar. She charged you five time more than she deal with you at first. Don't believe her especially Persian language speakers .

Our family had an extremely positive experience with Mr. Wisselman and his firm. My husband's elderly mother fell and broke her hip, her health was declining and she needed to be in a nursing home. She did not have a power of attorney or medical health care proxy, and we were in danger of not being able to make medical and financial decisions for her. We called the Wisselman firm, and asked for his advice on the best way to protect her rights and her healthcare. Since my mother in law was confined to a sickbed, Mr. Wisselman actually came to the nursing facility to speak with all of us, and understand the issues so he could arrange the best way to protect us medically and financially. Soon after, my mother in law passed away, and thanks to Mr. Wisselman and his compassion we were properly protected.

I recently attended a Meetup support group in Manhattan that was sponsored by Wisselman Harounian. I was at the beginning stages of a separation from my husband and I was looking for advice and support. I learned a lot about new divorce laws. The attorneys were generous with their time. In 2011, my son hired the Wisselman firm to handle his uncontested divorce. It was a simple case because my son and his ex were on friendly terms. I accompanied my son to the free consultation and met with one of the partners. I was very impressed with the office staff and the service. I was skeptical however about the low flat fee. I was sure the case would cost more, and my son couldn't afford it. I was shocked when the case was handled to the end with no hidden fees. Shout out to Halyna who was professional and responsive. I have referred other clients to this firm and will continue to do so.

I worked with Jackie Harounian, Lisa Gardener and Derick Rubin at Wisselman & Associates. Initially, I worked with Jackie. Jackie is a great listener, very compassionate and could double as a therapist. However, she is also a very good lawyer. She understands matrimonial law and is passionate about getting the best outcome for her clients. At the same time, she is an honest an ethical lawyer who would rather take the route of mediation or cooperation if mediation is not an option. She would rather arrive at a reasonable and fair outcome if it avoids a lengthy, ugly and expensive fight. I worked with Mr Rubin briefly on a traffic matter and he was competent and attentive to what I needed. For my matrimonial and custody case, I spent the majority of my time working with Lisa Gardener. You could not ask for a more competent, smart and compassionate person to represent you. When things got tough, Lisa never lost her cool, had a thorough understanding of the law as it related to my case and therefore never backed down to threats from opposing counsel and eventually saw me through a very difficult time in my life. She's a very smart lawyer who practices her craft in an ethical fashion. She will protect you as a client in a professional manner. As I went through my divorce and custody case, it became apparent to me that there are basically 2-types of lawyers. There are lawyers who truly care about you and your children's long-term welfare and how this life-changing event will affect all of you for many years (emotionally and financially). And then there are lawyers who will convince you that divorce and/or child custody is like a war. Take no prisoners and that they only outcome is a clear winner and a clear loser. In my opinion, the latter typically results in two former spouses that are broke, bitter toward each other, and children who are upset, confused and potentially damaged. My advice is to hire smart competent and ETHICAL representation. Even if your former spouse chooses the other path. My decision to hire Wisselman & Associates has served me well. My case which could have turned into a very ugly and costly confrontation was resolved fairly and in the end amicably. You may not believe that this is possible if your former spouse has chosen the other type of lawyer, but you should take the high road. I did and with the help of Jackie, Lisa and the truly amazing staff at Wisselman, my life is back on track and my children are in a good place.
