After being referred to this office by a acquaintance of one of the lead attorneys, I couldn’t stress enough the cons of my experience. $2500 spent for a case that stretched close to 5 months and ended with the same plea deal as the first court date. $500 cash for a drug evaluation which hasn’t affected the offer for my case. Numerous calls and emails go un-returned. On my December court date 2022 my lawyer Brett Bennett just didn’t show up to a court case scheduled for 930 am, after a three hour wait with un answered calls and texts I called the office at 1130am to be informed Mr Bennett couldn’t make it, another lawyer would be filling in for mine. When asked why I wasn’t informed the day before in the voicemail they left or just at any point of that morning. I was told “my only concern should be that a lawyer will be there”. I didn’t see a lawyer from the office at my case that day until after 12pm. This specific occasion I’ve now emailed my lawyer mr Bennett four consecutive times to receive a response to a question. As with any case there are no guarantees or promises that can be fulfilled and I’m fully aware of that. With that being said, in my opinion they are full stretched truths and time wasting. I won’t be paying for they’re representation again, nor suggesting it. 2/6 update. In person today at 400 Carlton Ave courthouse Mr Brett Bennett got in my face after I requested to accept the plea deal offered. “ I won’t let you accept the deal with out meeting with me “. He then refused to speak with me in person at court, I contacted the office to speak with another attorney and was told “Mr Bennett knows what he’s doing” I’ve spent 3 thousand dollars at this office and Mr Bennett is refusing to let me accept the deal. After removing him as my lawyer in front the the judge my case was again adjourned. Mr Bennett should not be a lawyer if he can not handle his emotions when receiving requests from clients. They have taken my 3 thousand dollars and the case is left open for me to deal with. Not pleased are words that cannot begin to describe my frustration with mr Bennett and this firm. I’ve requested all original copies of my case and was told I cannot have the originals only copies they made. I emailed another head attorney and awaiting a response I will continue to update… I feel robbed. 3000 dollars and I’m on my own (8/8/23)Replying to your answer that my “factual assertions does not comport with your staff or attorneys.” I’ve already filed a grievance complaint form about your office and Mr Bennett with the Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District. Your actions are on camera in your on office. Furthermore, I’ve filed claim with the lawyers fund for client protection since you’ve offered no retribution of any sort to my case from any of the lawyers in the office. After fully paying for your representation Mr Bennett at the end of my case then refused to accept a plea deal against my request after I asked to accept in person ultimately requiring me to return again. Once I saw the judge Mr Bennett then requested to be removed as counsel leaving me without a lawyer and unable to accept the deal, after another two appearances I was then appointed a lawyer for free. The facts are simple, and very clear for you to see. You then refused to give me a copy of specific files regarding my case, only until I threatened to make a formal complaint you then sent a thumb drive via mail. I should sue this place. I spent 2500 for your office to leave my case and I was then appointed a lawyer FOR FREE. It’s disgusting the world is filled with offices and lawyers like yours.
