Fantastic experience. My fiancé and I wanted a very simple, fair prenup (basically just preserving our individual assets going into the marriage) and Michael delivered. Extremely practical, professional, and responsive, with a single (reasonably priced) upfront fee and no hidden charges or fear that I would get hit with some surprise hourly billings. Other lawyers I spoke to seemed to make a lot of things more complicated than it needed to be. I appreciated that Michael was the opposite- explained his thinking and rationale, let me know where there were decisions to be made but also guided me based on his extensive expertise and what is typically done.

Over the course of about a year-and-a-half, I had the problem of figuring out how to deal with my recovery period, both medically and legally speaking; this was after a pretty bad auto accident that occurred back in the early spring of 2020 in which my vehicle was "T-boned" by another driver who just blew through a red light at a relatively high rate of speed and apparently felt the use of brakes was optional. Whenever one is involved in an auto accident--or almost any situation in which insurance claims and potential litigation are involved--you can expect to spend plenty of time and absorb a lot of aggravation filling out what seem like endless forms, meeting important time deadlines, making sure depositions are taken from those involved in the accident along with possible witnesses, dealing with police reports, calling body shops, visiting doctors . . . it goes on and on. Coincidentally and fortunately for me, a friend of mine familiar with the law firm of Miller, Montiel, and Strano, P.C., suggested I contact them, which I did. This turned out to be one of the best recommendations--if not the best--I have ever taken advantage of in my life. My case was assigned to Ms. Catherine M. Montiel who, over the course of about eighteen months, turned out to be an absolute "legal gem", dealing with what seemed like the almost endless number of legal procedures, forms, and complexities of my case with an incredible degree of efficiency and attention to detail. Her completely professional handling of my affairs relieved me of a considerable number of legal and psychological worries that I otherwise would have had to confront, at least partially, on my own. More than that, in all of our many communications over the time involved, Ms. Montiel displayed an element of compassion and genuine concern for my personal welfare that was utterly beyond any of the wildest of initial expectations I might have had. The best way, I guess, for me to sum this all up is to simply say: she treated me as if I were family. This is not at all the image that most frequently comes to mind when people think of lawyers who, for the most part, are often seen as being just ruthless shysters and money-grubbers. As far as I can see from my experience with Catherine Montiel, that's the opposite of what Miller, Montiel, and Strano are all about: when it comes to their client's welfare, from my experience, this is a firm that truly gives it their all.

Michael DiFalco saved me time and money dealing with my difficult ex husband on our divorce. He is patient and easy to talk with. He always responds within the same day. I highly recommend Michael.

I have no doubt from other reviews that this firm is capable. You should be aware they can be quite costly. I contacted them to put in place a Power of Attorney for a relative. They were responsive and nice but then I was informed it would cost me $365 just to have the first conversation with me about preparing one. Then there will be fees to talk to my relative, prepare the documents and fees to go to the nursing home to sign. $365 for just a conversation about preparing a POA was unexpected and unreasonable in my opinion. Who knows how much more it would be to talk to my relative, prepare the documents and meet with them to sign and notarize. I found another very reputable firm to do the entire effort for $425 in just a couple of days.

Please DO NOT use this firm. I cannot even begin to explain how unorganized and inconsistent they were. We were in contact with what seemed like different people each week. It was difficult to keep up with the information they were giving us via email and phone call. Long story short, when it came time to close on my home, I received an email from what looked to be Kevin Schmitt and Associates telling me to wire the remainder of my closing costs to ease the transactions the day of closing. Considering my initial deposit a few months prior was a wire, and I am a first time home buyer I did not think twice. Turns out, the email was fake and Kevin Schmitts database was hacked exposing all of my personal information and probably many others. We did not receive a single apology, advice on how we could potentially resolve the issue, or any kind of acknowledgment during closing even though Kevin Schmitt sat in the room directly across us in plain sight. Not a single member of the firm addressed the hack until we asked and all they could say was “we have no clue what happened.” A firm dealing with peoples money, identities and livelihood should have some kind of secure, encrypted email system but all emails that came from them were just plain emails with my information in them. I understand people can hack into almost anything nowadays, BUT the way Kevin Schmitt and his agency handled it was disturbing. Please save yourself the stress and use a different firm!!!
