Avoid this practitioner. She was recommended to me by my old wills and trusts law professor, as my parents were looking for estate planning help. Sounded sincere, but delegated all of the work to her assistants. Assistants made gross clerical errors and then tried to blame parents for being old and perhaps forgetful. Shameful. I don't blame the assistants entirely, however. I blame the attorney who was responsible for overseeing their work.
When i tried to contact her to express my concerns, I never heard anything back. Nor did my parents.
My parents then had to go to another practitioner and pay for another will and trust. The other practitioner stated what we already knew, that the work was substandard and did not protect the interests of the involved parties.
My Dad called her and asked for a refund, and she acted as if she had not a clue as to what might have been the matter, acted all concerned and wanted to know what was wrong etc. Never heard another word.
To add insult to injury, after not hearing from her for many many months, my parents got their 'will' in the mail from this practitioner, only giving them more anxiety about the will they had recently executed.
Terrible.
Please: Avoid this practitioner.

"Emily Franchina and her staff guided me successfully through a Medicaid application for my ailing wife, including the parallel establishment of a trust and preparation of other related legal documents, with great skill and meticulous attention to detail. Emily's knowledge of the law and options available to me were extremely helpful in planning for the future. I am grateful for her work on my behalf that has achieved the best possible outcome. I give her and her staff my highest recommendation."
Best,
--Michael
