I had initially consulted with Mary Ann Aiello a few years before the end of my marriage of 29 years. She was referred to me by a friend of mine who is an attorney. Mary Ann was kind and clearly knew marital law in NYS. She gave me clear straightforward advice with no sugarcoating. She has a brilliant mind and is top notch. When my marriage did end a few years later, I was prepared. My attorney was Michael DiFalco who worked closely with Mary Ann during the course of my divorce. Michael was not only kind, but he truly listened to me. He knew marital law inside and out and he was amazing with his spot on accuracy in locating and documenting marital assets. Everyone told me that I should find a "shark" attorney, and Michael is not that. He is above that and one better: smart like a fox and creatively resourceful in his method of practice with integrity. He is conscientious, has a good moral compass, and treated my ex and his attorneys with respect which is way more than I can say for the condescending and judgmental attitude I got from my ex's lawyers who were both cut-throat and practiced law in an unscrupulous manner...lies and misrepresentation of facts they were very good at. It was important to me that my four children not be harmed from my behavior during the divorce. Michael was all about doing what was best for the children and protecting them. My case lasted five years. It was a contentious mess from the beginning and dragged out by my ex and his lawyers in an egregious way to win financially. They did not succeed with all of their shenanigans and it ended up being a fair division of assets as it should be in NYS. Michael helped me battle through it and come out on the other side, still standing. He was also able to spot financial inaccuracies and misrepresentations that came liberally from the other side and he would call them out on it. We won many more battles than we lost each time we went to court and Im truly grateful that I had an attorney who not only looked out for the interests of my children and I, but always took the high road and came out on top.

I would highly recommend using Michael when you need an attorney. He explained the whole process at the outset and guided me through every step. While answering all questions and proposing the best plan of action, he's always available via email or call. I find it to be only fitting that I would be writing this on the 1 year anniversary of receiving my custody decision. There are not enough words to describe what an amazing lawyer Michael is. He was brought on as a replacement lawyer about 4 months into my custody case, and I wish I would have gone to him first! What should have been a pretty simple custody case, turned into nearly two years of a nightmare. Between an unwillingness to settle from the other side, which forced us to 9 days of trial, a forensic psychological evaluation being ordered, CPS being involved multiple times, and then facing delays due to Covid, it was just a disaster. The professionalism and compassion that Michael showed throughout the entire case was incredible. There were times that I was ready to give up, but he was my constant voice of reason and reminded me that this was a fight worth fighting, and we had a very good chance of winning. When it came time to prepare for trial, I was amazed at the amount of time and effort that he put into building a rock solid case, and he spent the time to truly help me prepare for testimony. In the end, I was awarded full custody of my son, which was huge considering he had been living primarily with his father from the time we separated.
