Attorney took my family court visitation/custody case. From the start he has not been able to find the time to work on my case. Now I just found out he left the country without letting me know (as he is unable to reply to important/time sensitive emails). This court appointed him as my attorney. He accepted the case. He is paid by the court regardless of his performance. Seems like I got what I paid for. I’m hoping he corrects his course and provides the representation he is being paid for by taxpayers. Update: Attorney came back from vacation and is now attempting to relieve himself from the case. He gave me less than 24 hours to appear before judge (knowing I am busy with work, without asking me my schedule). Keep you posted on this attorney. Looks like he took the money from the court for my case, went on vacation with it, and is now attempting to quit. How do these attorney's get away with this? Update: Attorney quit when he came back from vacation. While he was away on vacation a motion was granted because he did not oppose it. Very disappointing. He ignores his client’s concerns and interests. He puts his own wants in front of his clients needs.
