I recently visited the Law Offices of Ashok K. Karmaker, P.C. with my uncle to seek help with his immigration application. I am a U.S. Army Warrant Officer, but I didn’t mention my identity until the end of our visit. Unfortunately, the level of service we received was extremely unprofessional, and no one should be treated this way, regardless of their background. We were told by the front desk representative to wait in front of the restroom until the lawyer was done with his personal matters. We stood there for over 20 minutes. It’s shocking and completely unacceptable to ask anyone to wait in such a disrespectful manner, especially when you’re paying for professional legal services. I have great respect for the legal profession, but respect should be mutual. Being treated with such disregard was a disappointing experience. I hope this office reconsiders how they treat their clients in the future.
