Not because he will not do anything to defend your case, the only noted effort is in calculating the minutes to bill you. Because he will drop the ball, not show up to represent you and repond to your calls and emails days or probably weeks after you reach out to him. Because he will screw you with the judge and opposing counsel if it serves his business relationships with them more than a win matters. He's a hack that charges you for screwing you over.

Before hiring Mr. Katz, I reviewed his online referrals and recommendations. I saw some negative, and at firs I was weary, but then he was highly recommended by not one by two Supreme Court judges in NYC. I thought if judges thought he was worthy of their recommendations. I called. From that initial call to the end of my case, his office and staff (yes, including his wife) were caring, superb and kept me in the loop. During my case, I lost my job. I worked with his wife on payments, and they were so understanding and helped me out on suspending payments until I got a job. His office staff is knowledgeable and friendly and QUICK. No negative review from me, a positive real review. Negative reviews be ignored. I did and I could not be happier or more satisfied.

Mr. Katz is an attorney I have come across in my matrimonial practice and I think he provides excellent service for his clients!

I hired Josh as co-counsel a bit late in the game but he was completely worth it. He showed up, in every way, wrote detailed and well-thought-out motions, and I was able to contact him when needed. Any parent going through a custody case will tell you how critical it is to be able to consult even via text when you are scared or enraged, to give you sound advice. Josh is that attorney. Highly recommended to friends, colleagues and even patients.

Josh had to come in and clean up a very nasty and hostile divorce. Josh was everything that a lawyer should be. He made himself available, answers his own phone. He’s knowledgeable and successful. However I didn’t hire him just for that, he’s on the inside, he works with and knows the magistrates. He knew a lot of the opposing counsel to include mine. He litigates. He has confidence. If he tells you it’s going to happen it does. We’ve been through hell and the important part is he got me back in one piece, and that’s not an exaggeration.

Mr. Katz was my trial attorney and he handled my trial exceptionally well. He is very knowledgeable about divorce law and provides effective feedback and direction. He is very professional and provides timely follow up and responses. My divorce proceedings have not been easy and Mr. Katz has continually demonstrated empathy and compassion towards my circumstances. Do not fall into trap. He is the worst attorney you can ever encounter in your life. He is a s a money hungery attorney which is very common but he is one of the worst He is so cheap that his wife work as his own secretory, she has no clue about any thing other than collecting money and taking messages. He would promptly return your calls and messages untill you pay the retainer, after that you will be lucky if he answer your call or email in couple of weeks. There is one thing he is extremely good at which is calculating the minutes for his invoice. I know that he will respond to my review by denying since he denied other reviews before, he will say i did not pay him which is not true, he had money left in the retainer but asked for more money before he continue to work on the case. If you decide to hire him after reading my review, please do not pay him a high retainer as he always requires since he knows that no one usually pay him after depleting the retainer and he will never refund you a penny if you fire him.

While representing me in a matrimonial case, Mr. Katz referred to my case as a "hornet's nest" when communicating with the opposing council. Deplorable conduct all around.

I hired mr. Katz for several months. He was mostly professional, over promising, sometimes his work would be satisfactory He would answer 85% of his emails with three or more days of delay and sometimes jot answering them at all. I felt money was his main motivation. Sometimes he would do his own thing at court despite being asked to do what the clients ask him to do. I believe in his own way he cared but he would have too many clients to deliver the quality work that other clients are paying him for.

I had one of those Park Avenue lawyers billing me at $700 an hour. A friend of mine who is friends with a judge in Manhattan said to contact Joshua. He will get the job done and done right for less money. I figured if a judge is recommending someone it has to be spot on. And spot on it was. My divorce case going on for three years was over within 5 months of hiring Josh! He avoided going to trial and reasoned with my ex and his attorney and got me MORE than I was hoping! I have recommended him to two of my friends and both have hired and love him and his staff! You want something done professionally and compassionately? Then josh Katz and his staff is the way to go!!

I was a little nervous at first..but my experience with my Attorney Joshua Katz was Excellent. He explained everything to me in detail and everything I needed to know to protect myself. I felt very comfortable with him and would highly recommend him to family and friends. Despite other reviews and some people's opinion to me a busy Lawyer is a hard working lawyer with high demand for his professional expertise. I wouldn't want to higher someone who sits by the phone just waiting for the next client to call, to me that's someone who has not established high clientele. People have to understand a person can only do so much in a day and people have to be patient. Mr.Katz and his staff are very professional and respectful. I had the misfortune of having Joshua R. Katz as my divorce attorney in what was a pretty simple case. Unfortunately, his greed, and carelessness turned a very simple case into a lengthy and unpleasant scenario. He never returned calls in a timely manner - had to wait months for him to contact me back. Divorce is a stressful enough life event - choosing the wrong attorney can leave a damaging effect on your life. Stay away if you're looking for someone who will "truly" be compassionate with your situation.
