Today I visited ma'am Afia's office. It was a great experience as she informed me about every aspect and conditions of applying a Visa for immigration, I would highly recommend everyone to visit her with their concerns regarding their Visas.

When me and my siblings first came to Yunus Law, we were in a really tight spot. Today, about a year later we all have our green cards. Afia is professional and cares about her clients. She makes sure she gets the job done! I would continue to recommend her to as many people as I know.

I highly recommend Yunus Law for any immigration matter. I had hired two other lawyers over the last five years to help me apply for my wife abroad. She has been stuck in administrative processing for 3 years and no one could help and kept charging me for no results. I hired Yunus Law and from the beginning until the end they were responsive, communicated constantly and clearly, and I felt like they were protecting my interests and fighting for me and my wife. Every step of the way, they made sure I understood what was being done and had the correct information. Now, my wife is here and we are very happy. We refer everyone to Yunus Law and are eternally grateful for everything they did for us.

I waited for my immigration ordeal to end before writing this review. I engaged Yunus Law's services for my J-1 waiver in May 2021 and had an absolutely terrible experience right until I had to terminate their services in January 2022. In my experience, their work was tardy, often riddled with errors, and the communication was extremely poor. Yunus Law was recommended to me by a friend and I had consulted Afia for various immigration questions in 2020, which were all good experiences. I thus decided to explore the idea of using their help to file for a No Objection Statement-based J-1 waiver. In our initial chat, I asked Afia if she had helped Indian nationals with this process before, and was told that she had done it “a couple of times”. Another important matter that we discussed was that it takes a lot of networking and personal contacts to move paperwork efficiently in India, especially from a distance. So, I asked her if and how she would help with that. I was told that Yunus Law would take care of “everything” and had contacts in the immigration law community who could help with the India part. Reassured, I engaged their services. After a decent start, things steadily went downhill. There were several occasions where urgent emails were not responded to for well over a week. I even set up urgent appointments on her calendar and was not called back at those times repeatedly. Getting waiver documents from govt offices in India proved to be difficult and I ended up having to do all the legwork for finding out where to send documents. My nearly 70 year old father had to visit multiple govt offices over a span of 2 months during the pandemic almost on a daily basis. Without this legwork that I was relying on Yunus Law to do for me but had to do myself, my documents would have simply been lost in the system. I received no "contacts" from Afia to help with any of this, contrary to what had been advertised. There were delays in responding to me and delays in shipping out materials after being told they were going to be "sent out today" - one time I got tracking information 10 days and multiple emails after the item had supposedly been sent out. Even after paying over $200 extra in shipping fees, the shipping method chosen took 10+ days to deliver the documents to the office in India. There were significant mistakes in their work, which caused me to terminate their services before the task was completed. In late 2021, Yunus Law had trouble printing my DS3035 barcode. Exhibiting an astounding lack of expertise, instead of filling out a fresh form from a different computer, a solution that was obvious to even me and my non-lawyer friends, they first waited for several weeks to hear back on the IT error from the State Department, and when that didn't come through, sent an incomplete document to packet to the Indian consulate, even though the page where they were stuck clearly stated that the documents would not be processed without the DS3035 barcode. I had to frantically contact every single person I could find at the Indian consulate to get this error fixed and for them to consider the correct packet I sent myself a few days later. Yunus Law had also neglected to include my advisory opinion letter or case number in the DS3035 form to the State Department. This error was the final straw. I realized I had paid Yunus Law a lot of money and besides worrying about my waiver, I also had to worry about them doing their job properly, and had no faith in their ability to execute this task. I ended our contract and finished the rest of the process myself. These mistakes and delays contributed to my waiver getting really delayed and  granted with only 2 days left, despite starting the process 14 months before my J-1 visa expired. My wife couldn't change status and ended up having to go on absence from her job for 3 months and needing to change her visa from outside the US. There's so much more to share but unfortunately I'm restricted by word count. I cannot recommend them and will never be engaging their services in the future.

Long story short, my former lawyer made lots of blunders with my case to the point where I was due to be deported (in removal proceedings). Then I came across Yunus Law, and I am excited to say I am now a Permanent Resident! If you're looking for a 'no-nonsense', dogged, smart and determined lawyer, Yunus Law has to be your top choice!
