Steven Raiser’s law firm handled my case with excellence throughout the process. I had a SBA EIDL loan that got transferred to the Department of Treasury unexpectedly, and had a 30 % penalty added to the amount due, and due very quickly, which was very stressful. A call from a police station letting you know that your child has been arrested, is up there on the list of something a parent never wants to experience. Having had that horrible experience, I can say it would have been way worse if it weren’t for Mr. Steven Raiser. Starting from a midnight run to the courthouse in NYC, getting my child released, to the countless hours spent working on our behalf, ultimately resulting in the case being DISMISSED. The arrest and charges were unjust, but in today’s climate, very serious, and could have had life altering consequences. I would be remiss if I did not write regarding my humbling experience with Mr. Steve Raiser and Ms. Melissa Carpinello and share my story. Many months ago, I was wrongly accused by New York State of getting a fraudulent ID by the DMV. I was threatened with the chance of incarceration or possible deportation for a felony that not only did I not commit, but I was also completely clueless about. Needless to say, I fell under extreme stress and anxiety as I couldn’t make sense of what was happening to me, why it was happening, or HOW it was happening. I acknowledged that wrongful convictions, with jail time, are common to innocent individuals who rather accept a plea bargain instead of face a possible guilty verdict. I faced many sleepless and overwhelmingly panicked nights (and days) over what could happen to me if I could not prove my innocence. I didn’t know where to start as the accusations were extremely baffling and unanticipated. I had to go to court in Albany, which prompted me to begin searching for legal representation. I read several reviews of lawyers and decided on the office of Mr. Steve Raiser. I explained my panicked concerns and the issue of needing a lawyer who could travel from NYC to Albany. Coincidentally, Mr. Steve referred me to an attorney that lives in Albany, whom he had worked with in the past. Following a conference call with them, I was confident and knew they were the lawyers to defend me. During the process, I reached out to both of them with questions many times and they replied to me promptly and professionally. They knowledgeably informed me of every detail of the process, while being relatable and humble in understanding how I was feeling while providing reassurance along the way. I felt a sense of family and ease in my communications and experience with them. Mr. Raiser is an extremely effective attorney. He took upon my case when I was initially being arraigned. On the date of arraignment he was able to get me released on my own recognize prior to me having an open case. This was my first time meeting him and I immediately thanked him as I thought I would have had my bail revoked. Throughout fighting the case he stood behind my shoulder every step of the way, he was extremely confident and reassuring to myself and my family that he would not settle but only strive for the best possible outcome in my situation. I hired Steve to get me out of some trouble I got myself into. Today was the final appearance after All the Covid delays. I must say I am amazed how he negotiated with the DA. I was originally charged with a felony and Steve got it dropped down to a slap on the wrist. I am telling you, if you need a lawyer and worry about picking the right one, this is your guy. You can’t go wrong. The judge even told me this morning how lucky I am and how my lawyer did such a great job and I should thank him. I plan on keeping Steve in my phone contacts Incase I’m ever in a bind again or if anyone I know needs a real good lawyer. This firm is fantastic. They did an amazing job representing me in court for maybe the dumbest decision of my life. They got my class E felony dropped to a VIOLATION!! I mean I couldn’t ask for a better result. I spoke with Steve over the phone when I was looking for representation and his knowledge was unsurpassed. He pretty much ran down the entire process with me and it all went down like he said. He even worked with me on the price which most lawyers won’t even entertain.
