Attorney Riebling does not communicate well or deliver what was promised. I cannot recommend to hire for any family matters. Also, beware of the language in the contract that allows him to keep the entire retainer. Response to the reply: We did not hear anything for months (no communication, did not inform us of the outcome, not even an billing invoice) until I left this review then he responded back to my last email and called repeatedly. Where was this during our case???? He would not respond to text messages, calls, emails. Also, to address me by my last name on a google review without my permission is unprofessional. I would not recommend, the entire experience was unprofessional.

I'm my experience with Stephen Riebling, I would describe him as knowledgeable, distinguished, honest, and most importantly to me, accessible. At the beginning of my legal journey, when searching for an attorney I was faced with the first of many difficult choices. When first contacting Riebling it was after hours and he still responded and listened to my situation. When speaking with him he did not sell me a dream on my potential outcome, instead informed me of his history with similar cases and told me what he could do for me and my case. After being hired he immediately went to work. Throughout the case he provided a multitude of updates and I had no issue reaching him for all my questions and concerns. He took over the case and I had no worries daily because I knew he was on the job. He even guided me with other questions regarding how my case could interfere with my everyday life and plans. At the conclusion of my case I was able to truly have the best possible outcome, way better than I initially expected or even hoped for. I'd recommend Stephen in an instant, he's not a miracle worker but he's pretty damn close. My friends, my family and me all thank him.

Steve is disingenuous with fees. He charged me three times more than his hourly-based fees. He had told me verbally that he would charge only for hours worked and even offered reducing his rate to $350/hr. to get signed up. However his engagement letter had a clause which said he would keep the full retainer ($3,500). I obviously feel cheated as he charged me three times of what his actual effort was. He appears competent enough but I think it is highly unprofessional and disingenuous to do this. There are a lot of highly capable attorneys out there who are a lot more transparent and trusting with fees. He is not trustworthy.

I called Mr. Riebling with less than 24hrs notice of my preliminary hearing and explained my case to him. He then assured me he could help me through this and would be there for me in the morning. He gave me all the confidence and peace I needed to enter that courtroom. Stephen Riebling not only showed up but 100% showed out!!!! He was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and extremely genuine. Honestly speaking, I was preparing for an ugly and long custody battle. He without a doubt exceeded my expectations. He requested for my case to be dismissed upon his knowledge of the jurisdiction act and just like that the Judge granted his request. Here I am days later still in shock with the way things went in the courtroom….it was like watching a great scene from a movie. I don’t believe I would have gotten the same results without him. I am truly grateful to this man and highly recommend him to anyone in need of a darn good family court attorney. I retained Stephen Riebling in April for a family court case. I felt he was not responsive to my concerns or asked me what I wanted so I terminated him. I asked for a termination contact and a refund because he didn’t do anything with my case. He ignored every text and email. I had my family attorney call him to refund my money and he said he was busy. I have emailed him and texted him numerous times. When I contacted the office, he texted me angry telling me that the office cannot help. I attempted to dispute this with my bank and unfortunately it was declined and I was informed to dispute this charge with him myself. I sent him the letter from my bank and everyday I contact him he says “ima check with my bank.” We are in July and I have been fighting to get my money and termination contract since April. This is unacceptable. I feel he contacted me so fast for his money ($3,900) but ignores every text and email. this is unacceptable. I just want my refund. He’s so dismissive regarding this problem. I still didn’t get my refund.

Mr. Tarone was diligent, effective and communicated clearly. Without his representation through my rental home issues, my family and I would have certainly found ourselves in serious trouble.

Mr. Tarone represented me in a small contract dispute that lasted years, culminating a Stipulation of Discontinuance of the case in 2023 in NY Supreme County Court. Usually, no one comes out of court happy. I didn’t either, but Mr. Tarone was a honest and helpful attorney. He is a person I was grateful to have with me in the process.
