We consulted Barbie when things became too overwhelming for us. Filing for Ch 7 was scary, but she made us feel comfortable about the whole process. Any questions we had, Barbie responded to right away whether by phone or email. She explained and broke down the process of how our 341 meeting would go, and called us the night before to prepare. You wouldn't believe how many lawyers showed up with their clients so unprepared! I would have been pissed off if I were them! Thank goodness we had Barbie on our side, she was very well prepared! She was even kind enough to ask if we could be seen sooner because she knew my baby needed to be fed. Two years ago I stepped out, sacrificing everything to move to NY. I had no idea that my life would fall apart. After two years of barely managing my existing debt, having taken a 90% decrease in my income, I was faced with the threat of garnishment of my petty fellowship wages. My boyfriend and I closed on our NYC co-op last week and if it wasn’t for Michael Simon, I would have been driven mad. Buying a co-op in New York takes a long time (between 3-6 months) and requires far too many people and a lot of coordination. Michael’s involvement in our transaction unequivocally made for a smoother process. Michael’s prices were higher than other real estate attorneys that I compared him with; however, his responsiveness and willingness to wrangle those with poor communication made it worth the extra cash. Above all, his response times were impeccable: I was regularly able to reach him with a single phone call and he nearly always responded to missed calls and emails within the hour. It was easy to schedule with him and we dealt with Michael directly 90% of the time, though his assistant Lillian is also great to work with. Out of the cast of 8 involved in our transaction, Michael was without question our most valuable player -- as well as the most humorous. My boyfriend and I highly recommend Michael Simon and would happily work with him in the future.
