Mr. Hegeman is a true gentleman, yet he is also a true warrior - fighting for the rights of his clients. He will provide a realistic assessment of the various options a client has, and will not instill false hope or unrealistic expectations. Once a realistic set of goals have been established between the client and attorney, he will have an excellent chance of meeting those goals and expectations when dealing with the opposition. The worst thing about being a client is to take chances and have a 'let's see what happens' attitude, leaving decisions that will affect the rest of your life (and your loved ones) to strangers. Mr. Hegeman takes great pains NOT to take those chances. Mr. Hegeman is an expert at behind-the-scenes negotiation, so the client has a very good chance of knowing the outcome days or weeks in advance of the actual face-to-face with the opposition. Believe me, that is the way to hire a lawyer - one who will keep you out of the most stressful situations entirely. It's not like TV, and never has been. Mr. Hegeman is not dramatic, nor a fast-talker, or anything associated with the dramatic side of the law. He is an understated gentleman who you will have great confidence in.

Absolutely beyond repulsed by Mr. Hegeman, whom I was appointed to. The first time I called with a concern and he was so disinterested in what I had to say, he just kept saying "I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks, cant help you". So I made an appointment, and upon walking in to the office was briefly ignored by the secretary, and then Mr. Hegeman came out and told me I couldn't bring my 2 year old in his office. He told me to leave my toddler in the waiting room. How despicable. I certainly would not recommend. 0 stars.
