What can I say - he doesn’t even deserve one star. We hired Sam to help with a custody case. He seemed very engaged at first and shortly after we paid the retainer fee of $5000,00 but after he cashed it, he demonstrated poor follow through and made little to no effort in responding to emails, text messages, etc. His lack of communication impacted our case during the only two hearings he appeared at. He showed up unprepared and clueless. Later he was full of excuses; constantly blaming his bigger cases for taking up his time - justifying his lack of communication. We had no choice but to terminated his services. It’s been more than 5 months and we still haven’t received our itemized bill with our refund. I don’t believe we ever will. Beware of this guy. He hurt our family. He took on a very delicate case and made it more complicated. Please don’t hire this guy. He will not work for you, and you will not see your money again. This poor excuse of an agency is a scam. I will be filing a complaint to the Bar association and I will not stop there. 7/5/2023 In response to Sam Manrique’s reply to my review above, I have only one thing to say about his defence; Had he not lied about his so-call experience working with custody and family issues, he would have been better prepared to handle this case of which was not complicated at all. He failed to read my messages and therefore came grossly ill prepared for the hearings. Even the ACS lawyers wondered why we hired you because you were not prepared and you did not keep up to speed with the case. You were always difficult to reach; claiming you were busy with other cases. And then you charged us for every effort we made in contacting you; included all my text messages, phone calls etc as part of your final fees, exceeding the $5,000.00 retainer fee that we paid you. You’re not an honest lawyer and unfortunately for me and my family, I didn’t follow my gut instinct about you from the very beginning. You were a waste of our time , money and effort on a case that was already breaking our hearts. You didn’t not give this case or this family any respect. You only took our money.

Sam has been absolutely phenomenal. During the process of my adjustment of status, I had moved between multiple states. Throughout the process, Sam was very communicative and extremely responsive. He is meticulous, thorough, and patient. His meticulousness is reflected in the fact that he helped me understand what each document I was submitting was actually for and how it added strength to my application. My wife and I are very lucky to have worked with Sam and highly recommend him and his law firm. Thank you so much, Sam!

I don't even know where to begin I am so disappointed with Sam and his paralegal Amanda. I in good faith hired them (1/2022) for landlord tenant matter. I am the landlord looking to evict my tenant. I received a call from Amanda within 24 hours to collect the retainer of $1500.00. She said she will do all the paperwork, file all the notices and get a court date as soon as possible. Due to Covid it will take some time even though the moratorium lifted. I sent the money weeks passed I didn't hear anything. Finally, I got through and was told papers were served. I asked for proof for my records and had to wait months to receive anything. I was persistent. No response. Left numerous messages and when I did get a response it was one excuse after another. (Vacation, in court, criminal trial, sick, conference) I had a co-worker call from her phone and left a message she was looking for an attorney in regard to a real estate matter, it took 20 minutes for her to get a call back from Sam/Amanda. I called that day 2 times and no response, emailed and no response. I finally was told we are just waiting for court date. Months went by and nothing, I decided to call the courts myself only to find out the papers were never filed with the courts. There is no index number on any of the papers. I emailed Amanda and no response at all. Left numerous messages for Sam with his office and no response at all. Today is Dec. 1, 2022, and as per the courts still nothing. I can only say this law firm is a disgrace and how they scam clients by not doing the right thing is unethical. I did file a case with small claims court for my retainer. I shall also pursue a complaint with the Bar Association if I am continued to be ignored in regard to my retainer being refunded. End result was I hired new lawyer who took care of the issue and eviction was resolved within 60 days with papers being filed, served, hearing and trial.

I've worked with Sam for a long time now. As an attorney myself, i can say he and his team are very good at what they do.
