Michael Treybich is often the backbone for our committee's efforts to ensure fair access to the ballot and the very voting machines. Because the Republican and Democratic Elections Commissioners must agree on all decisions, but don't, Attorney Treybich has taken such disputes to court, and won nearly all of them. Vassar College should have had a polling location on campus after recent NYS Election Law changes, but the Republican Commissioner refused, until the very night before the election. And this was after Michael sued the Republican - and won - over disputes at a polling site near Bard College. Michael is quite knowledgeable about the details of the various statutes covering political races, ballot access and campaign finance, but more important is his passion about such issues. His family was active in Brooklyn Democratic politics and he joined them by high school, and his early love of the electoral process never left.
