This law firm was very professional, helpful, and communicative with me. When I had received a traffic violation in Steuben County on a weekend, I contacted James L. Ritotto's office and received a message the next day! The entire process was very professional and his staff were always open to any questions I had over weeks representing me. In the end, James and his staff were able to help me have the pending violation dismissed and I was pleased to have contacted this law firm. Overall, I recommend this law office to anyone!

With a VERY brief encounter and this office not knowing what type of help I am seeking shooed me office in a very cold and callus manner.. it was made very clear that this office had no interest in me as a person.. would not recommend.. this goes on to say that if you read his low reviews his responses to said reviews are very aggressive, demeaning and inappropriate for a man in his feild/ status..

A waste of 10k. First was told 7,500 then after putting down a deposit told 10k. Still decided to retain Mr. Riotto- he showed up to court maybe twice and wasn’t even prepared. We were prepared for a realistic outcome but the defense my husband received would have been the same with a public defender. Then once the plea was put in, the office was not responsive to pretty much everything.

I worked with Mr. Schmitt for a divorce agreement, he is a lawyer, so I don't think anyone should expect him to be warm and fuzzy, but he will work pragmatically in your best interest. I hired Mr. Schmitt to draft a divorce agreement based on terms previously set in mediation. I expressed what was important to me in the agreement and that most importantly I wanted to be divorced quickly. He never once dragged out any processes and he allowed me to pay his very reasonable fees in monthly installments. From the time I walked into his office to the time I was LEGALLY divorced was about 2.5 months. Not only that, he answered questions and concerns I had about my ex violating the agreement- he was always informative (I may not have liked his answers, but he tells it like it is!).

This law firm represented me on a moving violation that would have come with 6 points on my license reduced down to a parking ticket. I am so happy with the legal services they provided. Zero points! They far exceeded my expectations. Their retainer fee is on the higher end but still comparable in the industry for similar services. If you are looking for a great outcome, give them a call to discuss your case. Wonderful communication, as well, both by phone and email. Definitely recommend.
