Scott helped me form my business! He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of getting a business started. He was incredibly helpful and got me through the first stages of getting my business off the ground. He also helped me with my estate planning, which is a huge weight off my shoulders with my young family.

I am pleased to recommend Stephen J Silverberg for Medicaid and Estate planning. Since I live in another state, Steve’s intricate knowledge of New York State Elder Law has been invaluable in helping to plan for my father's needs. He has proved to be an excellent advocate with deep insight into the motivations that underlie human interaction. The rest of the sjslawpc team, attorney Scott Silverberg and financial manager Robin Hack, are also a delight to work with. I sincerely appreciate all the help they have provided.

Having to go through elder care planning is an extremely difficult and an emotional process. Stephen Silverberg was recommended to me and he didn't disappoint me on any level. His knowledge of both Medicaid and Estate Planning is outstanding. He was available and accessible throughout the planning process and Stephen is both supportive and understanding of how difficult these decisions are to make. He is thorough and comprehensive and his office is diligent with follow through and follow up. It is rare to find this level of expertise and compassion in one place. I have gone through this experience twice with Stephen, once for my mother (10 years ago) and currently with my father. I can't say enough nice things and praise how well everything was and is being addressed and handled. I highly recommend Stephen Silverberg and his firm.

After being recommended by a friend, Steve Silverberg has worked with my family for the past 12 years. He first worked in the case of my father in helping with medicaid and then in estate planning with my mother and father. His knowledge of elder law and estate planning figured most significantly in the money saved with the trusts and plans he set up for my mother. His administration and followup are timely and his compassion in his dealings with my mother and myself were above and beyond. He and his staff are prompt, responsive and knowledgeable. He answers questions clearly and directly. I would not hesitate to recommended him.

We had a truly horrible experience with this lawyer – he charged us a $15,000 flat fee to prepare and file a Medicaid application for a very sick relative, then let the file languish for well over a year while medical expenses piled up around us. He came up with excuse after excuse, and missed deadline after deadline, until we finally had no choice but to another lawyer. But even after we had to pay the second lawyer another $15,000 to do the work we had already paid Mr. Silverberg to do, he refused to refund any of the retainer we paid him and ignored repeated requests for a copy of our file (i.e., the “work” we was charging us for). When we did finally get our hands on a copy of the file (which took at least 8 months and pressure from our new lawyer), we were able to confirm that -- despite his repeated assurances that he was “almost finished” -- he hadn’t even begun to prepare any of the numerous documents necessary to support a Medicaid application. His behavior was very upsetting to all of us during a very frightening and difficult time in our lives. This was definitely the worst conduct I've seen in any lawyer.
