Setting up a Revocable Living Trust can be a daunting endeavor for those of us who know little about estate planning. Ted Cotter took the time to educate us fully so that we were able to make informed decisions in all areas of our estate planning. While for us it was a complicated process to understand, Ted guided us with patience, understanding and compassion. His knowledge on some of the most obscure areas such as international law was outstanding and addressed all of our unusual circumstances as well as the mundane with an estate plan that ticks every box. I would recommend avoiding this law firm at all costs if you want a lawyer that is going to well, even call you back! My family hired T. Cotter to work with our mother's will in Dec 2018. Mr. Cotter has had control of the funds and dispersement since that time and has only distributed them partially and has not provided a final accounting of the distribution of funds from the will. He has held onto approximately $15,000 that he refuses to account for. He refuses to take calls, when you leave a message he does not call back, and he does not answer emails. If you're an elder or someone seeking a lawyer to handle a will, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. If you've had similar experiences with Mr. Cotter, you can as I have had to do, file an official complaint with the "Second Judicial Department Attorney Grievance Committees". This has been and still is a very stressful situation for myself and my two elderly sister, very stressful…

I was a real estate lawyer at a large, international, NYC law firm for much of my career. I now own my own private equity real estate firm, which owns several million square feet of commercial real estate. Ted is as skilled and knowledgeable as any of the senior-most partners at any law firm I've ever worked with. He carefully reviewed our contract, title report, and all other attendant docs, including loan docs; he negotiated a great deal for us, and did it in a pleasant way. He's a terrific lawyer, is fairly priced, and is an absolute pleasure to work with; a great sense of humor. This is our family's second transaction with Ted and I'll be certain to recommend him to others and serve as a reference for him anytime. We are going to use him on our next personal deal for sure.

Mr. Cotter's assistance in purchasing my first new home, a condo in Brooklyn, was nothing short of amazing. To begin with my lender made a catastrophic mistake and almost tanked the entire process. However due to Mr. Cotter's knowledge and persistence we were able to secure another lender and close without any penalties...all at the height of the pandemic.
