I got a speeding ticket in Staten Island which is notorious for being difficult or near impossible to fight. I called a ton of people who all said the same thing, "Good luck but don't expect to win." I would highly recommend that you hire Helene Mark as your attorney. I hired Ms. Mark for a close friend who was facing some pretty steep fines, administrative fees, a suspension, and a poor driving history that would have ruined some job prospects. She took the time to listen to our concerns and answer questions. Most of the male attorneys I spoke to spoke very quickly, spoke over me, and didn't answer questions. This spring, while on his way to JFK Airport for a trip with friends, my husband was given a ticket in Staten Island. He knew it was a bad stop, given that the officer stopped him just seconds (20 seconds, tops) after exiting the Verrazano Bridge, in traffic, and claimed he was traveling at 75 mph. That just happened to be 25 mph over the speed limit of 50, which meant the ticket not only came with a hefty cost (over $500 with fees and surcharges), it also issued a mandatory 6 points.
