Mr. Shumer made me feel comfortable since day one. Very straight forward and very professional. Very easy to talk to and he was very patient with me when I had a few breakdowns on the phone. Very understanding. Very pleased with my divorce.

Steven has been our family's lawyer for about 3 years now, and most recently helped me through a very difficult divorce. He was extremely knowledgeable and exemplified compassion, understanding, and empathy the entire way through. I could not have had a better attorney for my divorce case. He wasn’t my first attorney for the divorce . Many times things were falling apart with my original council, who had poor ethics and bled so much of my finances running me in the ground with little done. This is when I and hired mr shumer who took the challenge when my case was a mess. He quickly pulled everything together and tied up every loose string in record timing. My only regret is not finding him first! He was recommended by a friend of mine, who also spoke very high of him. There is much more I can go on to explain what a god send he was for me, and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for him. He was always honest, put me at ease with his guidance , updated me promptly with any developments, and truely seemed to care. And was very generous with his billing which was another plus ! Haha. I was referred and recommended to Steven Shumer of Berger, Fischoff & Shumer through another attorney. I had a somewhat complicated custody situation that was made worse by a prior attorney. Steve took the time and listened to my situation to get a complete understanding of where I was at and the problems I was facing. He then formulated a plan that made sense to me, as well as the court as it turned out. Things went as well and better than I had even hoped and I now have formal custody of my daughter! My friend's recommendation was spot on. I needed a good attorney to assist me with a custody/visitation battle with my ex-wife and a support modification. It was a very complex matter with many issues. Steve did a wonderful job in being able to sort through all the nonsense that prior attorneys were unable to do.
