Worked with this firm years ago when I refinanced our house. Everything was prepared and ready to go when we arrived. The office was very nicely appointed and clean. The process went very smoothly. The attorney explained everything we were signing to our satisfaction.

My sisters and I recently employed Melvin and Melvin to handle an Estate closing. Right from the beginning something didn't seem right. On our first meeting and subsequent meetings I was repetitively told by the attorney that we could fire him at anytime throughout the process. This was reinforced numerous times which seemed strange to me. NOW I KNOW THE SCAM THEY'RE PUSHING. They dragged their feet for months with no progress made at all, sending us to banks without proper requisitions met, then blaming it on the banks for their own mistakes and ill advising. After very politely confronting them about their horrible service and professionalism, they decided to "close my file" and proceed no further with the estate closing, making all $10,000 of "legal advise" due to them for doing absolutely nothing. Currently seeking to file litigation against them for breach of contract and gross negligence. HORRIBLE SCAM OF A FIRM.

I communicated a legal need to Melvin & Melvin and sought a consultation. Instead of charging me, they sent me to the correct people I needed to speak with (in my case it was a Title Insurance Company). I appreciate their honesty, timeliness to my initial response, and I believe they are extremely ethical. Thank you
