She is the light at end of a dark tunnel and I’m grateful to have her on my side. ***update*** I wrote the aforementioned almost 8 months ago and I’ve been waiting for this moment to write a follow up for nearly a year. Like many, my story is complex with more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie novel. It was a perilous path that was so close to an edge of a cliff, that one slip up along the way could cost me everything including my 3 small innocent kids. This is a path that I wish on no one. But if you find yourself on this path, know this. I interviewed and consulted with 83 attorneys in my county (not exaggerating). Some were nice, others were not. Some were fake and others were indifferent. It took me all of 4 minutes to know that Dana was the one for me. She was unmatched by her humility, compassion, work ethic and overall regard for not just me but also my children. I read something once that if you had to pick an attorney, choose wisely because you’ll be married to them for a long time. This proved to be true and thank god I chose wisely. When everything you care about is on the line, especially your livelihood and children, there is no better shark than this great white. Dana was my green mushroom in a game of super mario when I thought the game was over. I can’t imagine how much she must juggle but she was always there when I needed her and was consistently accessible to me whenever I needed something. When crisis hit, she showed up for battle armored with extensive knowledge and experience. She not only fought against a challenging judge and a dishonest attorney but also articulated my position with such conviction and honesty that it pierced the most impenetrable ears. I watched her simultaneously defeat multiple adversaries and was ultimately successful in winning me my most precious prize, my children. Second to that, she even got me all the support I could need to provide for my kids as a newly single dad. There are no words or amount of money that could ever repay her for what she’s done for me. She saved me and more importantly my kids from something far worse. She is my fairy godmother that came out of nowhere when I needed it most. I don’t wish what I went through on anyone but if you find yourself down this road, there is no one better than Dana as your tour guide. For those that feel that all hope is lost, I’ve been there. Don’t give up. Fight for what you believe to be true and do not stand down. To the dads out there like me, I stand with you. To the good moms out there, I hear you and support you.
