He was my lawyer for two months representing me for child custody and partition of the house. In all the court appearances, Eugene seemed to appear without preparation and had difficulties remembering what happened in my case. When judge asked him a question, he normally couldn't answer or just said my client wanted it without giving any basis or reason, which made judge pretty angry, asking him why? And he couldn't answer. Many times, I had to plea him please say something for me in front of judge. He damaged my case, when I expressed my concerns to him during the process, he seemed to be defensive and had no clue. I fired him after two months.

It has been a pleasure working with Mr. Dougherty for the past few months. He was very thorough in explaining the process, documents and timelines. He was organized in getting all the necessary documents upfront and kept me informed in a timely manner of any updates. However, his advice about the loss mitigation cost me tens of thousands of dollars and put my home at risk. He consistently forgot key facts about my case and advised me to take steps that ultimately harmed my case. His poor representation resulted in extended time (and money) to resolve both the bankruptcy case as well as the loss mitigation. Furthermore, I found Mr. Horowitz to be condescending and judgmental about my situation. He often lectured me about my financial state as if I had caused it due to irresponsible spending. I had to point out multiple times that his tone towards me was unprofessional, and eventually received an apology. Bankruptcy is a stressful time for anyone, and your bankruptcy attorney should not be adding to the stress or putting your case at risk due to his advice.

Divorces are always difficult , even if both parties agree. Unfortunately for me ,we didn't agree. Luckily Eugene Dougherty knew exactly what we needed to do to work with not only my ex husband but also his attroney . Mr Dougherty was knowledgeable and helpful .
