Throughout this process, Marty has been both a good lawyer and a trusted friend. He consistently takes a reasonable and measured approach with all parties and is a consummate professional. His experience speaks for itself - he has been doing family law in Westchester for decades, and has seen it all. He uses that experience to thoughtfully explain all the facets of a case to consider for both the short and long term. I think Marty does an excellent job of crafting agreements and resolutions that focus on the long term benefit of his clients. These are difficult personal situations, so having someone who brings that perspective is invaluable. Marty has a pretty rare combination of qualities - technical expertise from decades of practice in family law, and extreme caring for clients from just being a good human being. He was the 8th lawyer I interviewed and I walked straight out of his office to the bank to get the check for his retainer. He is super smart but super humble. You can reach him at all times and he will take your call, which was certainly a comfort to me. He'll energetically go to bat for you when your rights are being unfairly trampled, and I've seen him respectfully but pointedly rebuke even judges. But he'll also tell you when you yourself are in the wrong or expecting too much - I think that's important in family law. He will try to minimize costs and find the most efficient way to solve a problem. But the thing I was most amazed by was that Marty always made me feel like I was important, not just my legal case. I came to him at a very difficult time in my life and he was the rock I needed.
