In 2019, I was named the executrix of my godmother's estate. I live in Alaska; she lived in New York. I found myself needing a probate lawyer in New York. After asking several New York friends for suggestions, I turned to the internet. I am a retired lawyer and it was a scary thing to contemplate hiring a fellow lawyer based on an internet posting. But I read the posting for this firm and took a leap of faith. Best decision ever! For the past four years, Kenneth Gould has steered this probate to its now successful conclusion. Along the way he was knowledgeable about estate and real estate law; he was efficient in getting the job done at the least cost; he never failed to consult me when decisions needed to be made; he communicated promptly and faithfully. JoAnn has represented me since 2014 for post divorce litigation in family courts in Westchester County. Going through a bankruptcy is an extremely difficult experience. I remember feeling overwhelmed by all the details, and that all changed once I started to work with James. Not only is he extremely diligent at the details involved in filing the bankruptcy, and helping to prepare you for all the various steps but his greatest strength is his humanity. He knows that you are hurting and that this is not something that you want to be doing. I didn’t know him at all before this process began but I now consider him a friend and someone that I can trust completely. Forget all the lawyer jokes that you’ve heard because when it comes to James, none of them apply.
