Peter may be great but the back end operations are not! They are super responsive during the sales phase but after you submit your payment…crickets! I’ve emailed and spoken to the office staff many times requesting an update only to be told…”I asked for any update and haven’t received one”.. .”he’s not responding to be either “…”he’s out of town working”
After 3 months of inactivity I’ve requested a refund of my fees. Too bad I can’t receive a refund of my time wasted!

Spoke to the man a total of e times. Decided not to use him because he's basically behaves like a door to door salesman. Asked for a refund of money paid. I understood he would keep $250 of it. Thats fine. Asked in end of January for refund. Feb 29th still no refund initiated. Spoke to him finally after getting an appointment 2 weeks away. Next day recieved text saying check was sent in mail. 5 days later still nothing. Office makes excuses. Like i don't control the mail. He kept $350 not 250. No explanation. How do you sue a lawyer? Smh. Maybe Monday. Don't be scammed! He is a door to door encyclopedia salesman.

Grubea's employee Joe DeMarco is based on our experience with him incompetent, and inept at best. Seldom communicated with us, never returned emails when badly needed and when we needed something, really, really needed something he failed to file the proper paperwork which would allow us to close on a house...Stay Away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had two appointments for a phone consultation with Peter and both times he was a no call. I even called a couple of hours before my second appointment to make sure that he would be calling me and the receptionist said definitely. Very un professiona. I will be contacting a different attorney.

Would not recommend this attorney at all. They have blown us off twice now with appointments. When we have called we were told that the attorney himself isn’t in office and there is nothing they can do. They have also been very rude and unhelpful. No customer service aid or anything. No even an explanation or offer to help get us in an appointment. Wickedly unprofessional.

To keep things basic I just had my initial consultation with Peter. I am already relieved and feeling better about not only my finances but myself. He is very knowledgeable and I know that I am in good hands from this point forward. If you need help he's your attorney. Hands down!

My wife and I hired mr. Grubea to handle her bankruptcy case. we initially got a phone call from his secretary to set up an appointment to have a telephone consultation with mr. Grubea. he did call on time took a quick overview of our case and we decided to hire him and he wanted a $300 retainer in the form of a money order. We went and obtained the $300 retainer and mailed it to him, which his office promptly lost. after searching for it for almost a month they claimed they couldn't find it so we sent him out another $600 money order this time certified with return receipt. This money order was cashed. I should State for the record that the first money order was never cashed, they just lost it.
For the next year, his secretary lost paperwork many many times. my wife faxed in and emailed then every documentation that he requested. All tax info, all employment info in the form of pay stubs, they even asked for my daughter who does not live at home with me pay stubs. his secretary said they never received it even though a read receipt was put on the emails so we know they were opened.
after almost a year this back-and-forth we have still yet to speak to mr. Grubea. We dealt almost exclusively with his secretary.
the last time I called and I tried to speak with mr. Grubea I was told again we didn't have paperwork and he was not available. at this point I told them it is been a year all I want to do is speak with my attorney that I hired I have never spoke with yet. then they decided I am too demanding and decided to drop us as clients and took two weeks to return our money.
my wife gave oral and written permission for me to speak on her behalf to the attorneys on her case. I don't think it was unreasonable to ask to speak to the attorney that I hired and not just his secretary. I also don't think it was unreasonable to ask for a sit-down with the attorney that I hired. I was willing to travel from Rochester to Buffalo to do this. the receptionist that I spoke with besides his secretary told me that I accused them of stealing my money. I informed her that I never said the such I just wanted to meet with the attorney that I hired. Again, I don't think it was unreasonable to ask to speak with the attorney that I had on retainer.
So in conclusion, I would NOT recommend mr. Grubea services to anyone unless you want to get run around and have to deal with his secretary for a year. And then if you dare to speak up and ask to speak with the attorney that you hired he will drop you as a client quickly.
I am positive he will be on here to defend himself. no matter what he says I would not believe it. In my opinion, he may be a very competent attorney but his staff is terrible.

I am a senior professional by trade and my income is close to six figures. I had debts close to $200,000.00. I was feeling very humiliated and embarrassed to file for chapter 13 bankruptcy.
I consulted three attorneys before coming across website of Mr. Grubea. First attorney told me I will have to pay $2700.00 upfront fee and due to my high income I will be paying plus of $2300.00 a month. Second attorney told me he will charge $1800 fee and I will be paying little over $1000. Third attorney told that he will charge $1000 upfront fee and I will pay around $800 a monthl. Then I came across Mr. Grubea's website that said I will only pay $300 upfront fee. I scheduled a telephone consultation with Mr Grubea, who explained to me in detail chapter 13 proceedings and how he will be able to help me by keeping monthly payments very low and under $300 a month. The telephone interview was very professional, comforting and assuring that I was talking to a real professional who will take good care of my case. I completed all documentation sent to me by his office. I got very prompt replies to my queries. I had only one trustee meeting where Mr Grubea's assistant came who was also very professional. For the case hearing with the Bankruptcy Judge, Mr Grubea was himself present. Against a number of objections by the Trustee attorney, Mr Grubea, as his calculations and promise, was able to convince the Judge and got my monthly payment to just $208 a month. It made a very comfortable and free of humiliation experience.
I would highly recommend, especially professionals with high income, who feel humiliated talking for bankruptcy to consult Mr. Grubea. You will feel surprisingly comfortable and get rid of all worries and tensions, and live a debt free life.
Thank you Mr. Grubea.

You will never get to speak to Mr. Grubea about issues regarding poor handling of your case, only to one of his staff that you never met. At the end of my bankruptcy I had to keep calling the office to get them to finalize the bankruptcy by sending a simple form out regarding child support I do not owe, which from what I understand is a formal document required to end all bankruptcies. That took a long time to get done after several phone calls to office staff. After working to establish credit I purchased a new car and think things are going well. Then I receive a bill 8 months after my bankruptcy was finalized for over $78,000 with over $19,000 in interest! After my bankruptcy is finalized and I get this bill from someone I never heard of a lawyer I never met told me he explained student loans can not be discharged in bankruptcy (and in certain circumstance they can Mr. Grubea). I was told when I filed bankruptcy my student loans were dischargeable due to them being sold twice to private lenders and my being offered a $5000.00 loan many years after I graduated to use on anything I wanted not related to educational purposes. I was able to have my student loan discharged during my bankruptcy under the student loan forgiveness program but since it was (supposedly) discharged in bankruptcy I did not qualify. The attorney I dealt with is no longer with the firm and another lawyer I never met tried telling me this was discussed when I filed, it was not. I would have never filed bankruptcy if this wasn't included or at least would have made payments to not get a surprise like this! Now after bankruptcy I owe $20,000.00 more than when I filed. When I tried to rectify this with Mr. Grubea's office I was basically told to pound salt and just pay the bill. Now I have to hire a real lawyer to rectify this. Consultation, advise, and assistance post-discharge is too poor to risk having something like this happen to you. I am by no means rich and can not afford this unforeseen bill. I REPEAT, I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS WAS NOT DISCHARGED, IN FACT I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE IT WAS. I WAS TOLD "ALL" MY DEBTS WERE CLEARED. DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM!

I felt very confident after my initial phone consultation with Peter. The process took 5 months from start to finish. The paralegal answered every email I sent and there were many! I felt well represented in court. I recommend Peter and his staff.

After unexpectedly losing my job after delivering my youngest son I had no other choice but to file for Chapter 13. I researched the internet and community and was lead to Mr. Grubea's office. He suggested a strategy and payment plan which would be most beneficial to me and that I was pleased with. However, after the initial court appearance I have not been able to get in contact with Mr. Grubea or his staff at all. I have had to communicate with the Trustee himself in order to clarify any errors (and there were many) and adjust any modifications that needed to be made. Emails went unanswered and telephone calls, although answered by the staff, were never returned like they promised to. I paid the attorneys fees for him to guide me through my Chapter 13 and it was the worst decision of my life. My recommendation would be to NOT hire Mr. Grubea's firm. He is absolutely awful.

I just wanted to share my thoughts on The Grubea Law firm. I was facing a foreclosure of my home and needed professional advise. I found Peter Grubea's name in our local telephone book and called and set up a appointment.
from that first phone call, all the way thru the chapter 13 process, the Lawyers and Staff at The Grubea Law firm have been great. They were professional and polite. My questions were answered immediately, I always spoke to a person and did not have to leave voicemail's and wait for a response. They also were very compassionate during this very stressful time in my life. That fact alone helped me and my wife get thru this process with the least amount of stress as possible. The fee's that were charged were also very reasonable. I have recommended this law firm to a close family member who also had to file Chapter 13 bankruptcy. I would recommend The Grubea Law-firm to anyone who is facing a Foreclosure and/or Bankruptcy.
