I needed to leave my home as a result of a highly toxic marriage that had finally come to an end. I was scared as my wife has a very high conflict personality style, and I knew I’d need a lawyer who could help protect me and the future I wanted to rebuild for myself and our daughter. Many of the local lawyers from the Ashville metropolitan area were hearst in family law, but none could I find that specialized in high-conflict separation. Quite frankly, I was scared as I knew that without the protection and guidance of the right attorney who really understood the rigors of dealing with high conflict, my future could be terribly turbulent. What struck me about Jim at first was his profile on his website. He was authentic, and completely values-driven and spoke as if he knew my situation and desire for a new life completely. His reviews were glowing on AVVO, and our first meeting was stellar. Jim’s quiet, calm, but confident demeanor instilled a peace in me that helped me focus. Jim took time to listen, and process, but in the end, always honor my values and goals - working quickly and efficiently to get all of our ducks in a row. Most of all, Jim had the heart of a coach; he sincerely gave wise counsel when it came to my daughter and her needs - always pointing me to my North Star. I was literally blown away by the quick, professional, and precise execution of Jim’s process - he had us sitting down to mediation with a legally-binding separation agreement within weeks! Done! The sheer relief I felt by having all of our i’s dotted and t’s crossed and under the law was worth more than I could have ever dreamed. Now, I’m moving on with my life and happier than I’ve ever been with a bright future. I was able to buy a beautiful home that is perfect for my daughter and I - a place where she can feel safe and enjoy her time as she grows up. I have a new lease on life, and I cannot thank Jim enough. He was a God-send.

My divorce was final before I knew Jim, but when a few post-divorce issues came up I turned to Jim for his legal advice and I'm glad I did - his counsel was spot on and he was a huge help. After several rounds of negotiations over many months the attorneys in our divorce case decided on mediation. Several mediators were considered but Jim Siemens was selected. As it turned out Jim was a prescient choice. His preparation, calm demeanor and ability to gently push each side to a solution was just what was needed. We ended up working together over several hours during two separate, highly charged sessions. The issues were complicated, involved large numbers and the outcome was going to affect our lives for years to come. Jim was sensitive to the situation, did not rush anyone to an unwanted answer but did push both parties to reasonable compromise. It was hard! In the end I felt the guidance Jim provided my attorney and me led to an outcome we would not have achieved on our own.

Excellent legal team

Going through a separation is a very stressful and dreadful experience. You really have no idea what direction to take or even what steps need to be taken during this time. I was recommend, by a friend, who had previously used Mr. Siemens and highly recommended me to speak with him concerning my matter. I made the phone call and had an initial phone interview with Mr. Siemens. It felt like he immediately gave me a since of understanding and direction that I needed to take. I immediately hired Mr. Siemens to guide me through this very complex time of a divorce. Mr. Siemens tried, from the very start, to resolve this situation before we went to court. I am very proud the way he and his assistant Dorothy worked so very hard to get my case settled. Unfortunately, with my spouse, court was the ultimate decision for this case. Mr. Siemens and Dorothy put together my case and these two had everything under control. I had no worries during court with this team. Jim is direct and to the point.
