On 2/18/17 my wife and I were involved in a serious head-on collision in Raleigh, NC which was totally the other persons fault. We were both in intensive care for a week. Though we were both injured, my wife had multiple broken bones and required 4 separate surgeries. We had never been involved in anything like this before and it became clear that we would need a lawyer to handle things. From her hospital bed my wife accessed the internet looking for guidance on finding a lawyer. She quickly decided on Michael Maurer after reading a ton of lawyer background information; as well as, reviews and testimonials. Mike had past experience representing insurance companies fighting for their interests, than later opened his own practice representing injured individuals. There were dozens of 5 star reviews from people who believed Mike had done an outstanding job representing them. We called his office, spoke to Connie, and gave her a brief description of our situation, and she arranged to have Mike come to our hospital room to meet with us. Mike arrived as scheduled and answered all of our questions. Mike clearly explained how the process would work and assured us he and his staff would be with us every step of the way. We agreed to hire him and never regretted that decision. He and his staff handled all the issues between the car insurance company, the process of seeing that all the hospital and doctor bills were fully covered prior to our receiving an outstanding settlement. I know we could never have been capable of dealing with this life changing situation without Mike and his tremendous office staff. Thank you so much!

Mike and his team took care of everything for us. The accident caused us enough turmoil and taking care of ourselves and healing was took so much time and focus, we did not want to have to worry about fighting insurance companies for a fair settlement to the horrible disruption to our lives that was not our fault. We wanted someone to fight for the struggle we were going through, and Mike did that and more. He would not settle for less that what he firmly believed we were entitled to. Honestly, I'm not one for writing reviews, but these guys were outstanding. My wife was in a bad accident where she was hit my a drunk driver on her way home from work, ended up needing surgery and several months of recovery. To top it all off the guy had really poor insurance. Now I've never been in a situation like this before, never needed a lawyer, never been in an accident, and I was suddenly having to take care of my handicapped wife who needed full time attention, a 8 month year old son, and going to school full time, needless to say I was overwhelmed and lost. When I was searching for a lawyer I was more than a little skeptical, what with all the ambulance chasers out there, but after doing thorough searching looking at reviews, their past work experience, track record, and other variables, i ended up giving Marurer Law a call as they seemed the best on paper. Mike cam to the hospital that same day even though it was a Friday afternoon and any normal person would have just scheduled to meet on Monday so they didn't have to work late, answered all my questions, and didn't pressure us at all, giving us time to think over our options. Over the next few months when we met, even having my son at some of the meetings never phased him or his staff, they we're actually amazing good with my son. Even with the other drivers insurance being so poor, they managed to get us the maximum we could get, and then some. Honestly i cant say enough good things about Mike and his staff, they really saved me and my family when we really needed it. Just a simple review doesn't show my gratitude. And in case you're wondering. no this is not one of those paid reviews (I was wondering that when I was searching for a lawyer, and considering all their reviews were too good I was skeptical of that too, but trust me they really are that amazing)

I was run off the road by a driver who cut across my path. After an uncomfortable phone conversation with the driver's insurance adjuster I decided to get an attorney. Not wanting to go through a bunch of the lawyers that sent me mailers, I found Mike Maurer through a Google/Avvo search. He came out to my house for my initial consultation since I had a broken foot and ankle and couldn't walk well. He drove me to the scene of the accident to look around and even visited surrounding convenience stores looking for camera footage. I found his firm to be extremely helpful throughout the case management. They handled absolutely everything except my visits to the doctor. They kept me well informed of what was happening throughout the process without asking too much of me at all. Mike himself is a cool, amiable, and collected guy. Even fighting an insurance giant like Allstate, he possesses the confidence, experience, and knowledge to make sure my case wouldn't be beaten for an unavoidable accident that was at no fault of mine, despite North Carolina's contributory negligence statute. His paralegals, Connie and Skyla, are also wonderful ladies. Every conversation I had with anyone there was quite pleasant, very professional, well informed, and all communication handled in a very timely manner. They expressed genuine concern for my well being and satisfaction with their management of my case, making sure I was progressing well through my medical treatments and that the legal ends were tied up in a timely, but not rushed manner. Mike’s advice was honest and fair. He was realistic in setting any expectations of the settlement outcome and willing to go the extra mile to maximize my settlement.
