I contacted Maitland&EnglishLaw Firm to help with with a lease issue that I had been unable to fix on my own despite trying to negotiate with the landlord. In a very short amount of time, Attorney Sarah Reddy was able to resolve the problem with a much better outcome that I even expected ! So, If you are having a leasing or landlord/tenant issue, I would highly recommend that you contact Maitland Law.

One of the best Landlord Tenant attorneys in Chapel Hill. I have called Sarah numerous times over the years and she always makes time to hear my situation and answer my questions. I would not be able to handle my business without her. Highly recommend!

I have called Sarah many times over the years pertaining to corporate issues. Being a woman owned company, Sarah has always been willing to fight for us. She is very knowledgeable and not afraid to take on challenges. Even during those times that I had to call her outside of courteous business hours, she still got back to me quickly. She is quite an asset to have on your side.

My experience with this particular attorney was less then wonderful. My wife and I hired her after having a discussion and paying her a consultation fee of $150. The main reason for consulting her was to see what we could do beyond what I already knew and if at the very least I could have her file the paper work and we pay her so it's done properly. She said we would talk about this later.(She didn't mention it, only after I brought it again did she say she couldn't because it was unprofessional.) Why not say that in the beginning and be honest? She advised us to send a demand letter. Which we did and paid $500 for. We were partially considering going to court but didn't want to. She told us $2500 for a retainer which I thought was a flat fee but after investigating and then asking her discoverer that was just for her to represent us. That was on me though because I should have done more research. Sara's inability to answer her phone or call back really irritated me. I had to relay messages through other people and email her which made something that should have taken 5 minutes take much longer. Additionally the demand letter Sarah crafted had incorrect information, despite emailing and explaining in the consultation. I voiced my displeasure of not being able to reach her and only being able to contact her through email. She replied though though email that she is busy. (If she was too busy to answer the phone or call back in a reasonable time then she shouldn't have taken the case.) After the demand letter was sent, in the middle of negotiating settlement sara dropped us. In part it was due to me voicing my displeasure of how she had been treating us as well as a couple mixed up emails intended for someone else. It's understandable of her no longer wanting to work with us. However in the middle of negotiating dropping us? This rendering the demand letter worthless because no attorney stands behind it. She said she could repay part of the money we spent. Now I have to pay another lawyer to finish negotiating our case which could potentially be more costly then any money we would receive in settlement. We are almost in the same situation as before. This time with less money. Honestly from her unpreparedness and the feeling of being rushed we should have seen the red flags. This is the type of lawyer who walks around with her nose in the air like she is better then you. The kind who knows more then you because she went to college but can't write a demand letter with correcr information despite being given this information more than twice. Maybe if you have a case worth more money you might get different results. I spoke with a different attorney. Honestly I wasn't feeling it with Michelle English either. I'm going to retrieve my infromation and a partial refund monday. My family went through a lot of diffuclty and we were just looking for help. So to the two attorneys at mainland law I encountered my middle fingers are up.
