My husband and I used Jennifer Tharrington to draft our surrogacy agreement with our gestational carrier in North Carolina. We also used her to establish our Pre-Birth Order. Being from New York, we found Jennifer to be extremely knowledgeable in the reproductive laws of NC. We interviewed several well-established lawyers in NC to use for our contract and PBO, but there was something special about Jennifer’s manner, knowledge, and responsiveness that put us at ease and confident in her abilities. She also just seemed like a wonderful person, which was important to us too. Surrogacy is already an overwhelming process, so we wanted an attorney who was top notch, responsive, and on top of everything. She drafted our contract within a week. She also spent many hours on the phone reviewing our contract with us line-by-line, answered our 100’s of questions, and made requested changes immediately. Our surrogacy contract was written during the pandemic, and we were beyond impressed with the covid language she put into our contract. Our Pre-Birth Order was done promptly/earlier than anticipated. Jennifer’s assistant, Amy, is also wonderful. She and Jennifer frequently checked on us prior to our embryo transfers, answers all our questions, and kept us in the loop throughout every stage. They told us exactly what to do, and when to do it. As a team, they’re courteous, prompt, responsible, knowledgeable, and extremely organized. While we are still anticipating our first child’s arrival as I write this, I’m happy I have Jennifer should any legal obstacles arise surrounding his birth. I highly recommend Jennifer and her team to everyone!
