We first met Mark and his staff at a lunchtime presentation they gave on estate planning sponsored by our wonderful Fidelity NC Branch in Pittsboro. Not knowing what to expect, we were immediately wowed by the team and their ability to communicate a wealth of information in a perfectly choreographed presentation, never losing site of the fact that they were helping their audience navigate complex legal details regarding the difference between wills and trusts plus the advantage of the latter. Within a few days we had set up a meeting with Mark to discuss creating a trust to replace our existing outdated wills. We cannot praise Mark and staff enough for their professionalism and empathy throughout the process we immediately decided to embark on with them as our guides. We have since attended their wonderful Fiduciary School which was a marvelous refresher course and reminder that this is not a once and done relationship or process. We are grateful to be a part of their clientele and have come to feel a familial fondness for all. We highly recommend them to all who are seeking estate planning assistance from the best of the best.

My experience with Clarity Legal was the worst I've ever had with a law firm. Despite paying and wasting over $2,600, the draft of the Revocable Living Trust we received was extremely confusing and complex, spanning more than 100 pages filled with unintelligible legal jargon. As a lawyer myself, I couldn't comprehend the document—how could I expect my beneficiaries to understand it after I'm gone? One of the supposed advantages of a Revocable Living Trust is to eliminate probate costs, but instead, our beneficiaries would face significant expenses just to decipher the trust document. This situation is completely absurd. We're still waiting to see if they will reimburse us for the money we wasted. I urge others not to waste their money and time with this law firm.

Excellent law firm that specializes in estate planning, particularly trusts and all that it includes. They offer a free presentation so it gives one an opportunity to truly understand all that their services encompass. Everyone, and I do mean everyone on their staff is very knowledgeable and put their clients at ease immediately with their friendly and down to earth approach. I can't recommend them highly enough for asset protection!

We have been clients of Mark Costley for over 9 years. I first met Mark when I was involved in end-of-life work and attended several seminars he offered and realized he had a great deal of experience in this area and knows what he’s talking about. He set up our trust after quite a bit of discussion and decision making. I was really impressed how well his staff worked with our financial planning institution getting all out assets into the trust. His staff prompted us when we needed to do something and made it easy for us. We also enjoy Clarity’s client dinners and the updated information they provide.

Further, Clarity has a very talented and helpful staff, paralegals, and other attorneys, yet is not so huge that you receive less than personal attention. Frequent client seminars on various topics, such as a recent one on Fiduciary responsibilities and a Legacy Program for annual review of our trust are pluses. We are glad we chose to retain Clarity, and Mark in particular, to handle these complex legal matters.
